Do not despair...
Nov. 12th, 2004 08:13 amThe cover of The Stranger this week made me smile.
Now, this isn't to say that I think that no one who doesn't live ins a city is instantly an unthinking hick. I know that isn't true. Some of those people are family. Some of those people are good, good friends. This cover, however, does make me smile and helps me remember that there is a reason I live in this city. That there is a reason that I prefer living in cities. Ideally I'd live in a forest fo my very own about 20 minutes away from downtown. I have to go a bit further out than that but... I don't mind living in the city. I can always drive out to the trees. They aren't that far.
Anyway. I feel a little better about things. It helps me feel better until I can get some money. Completely making my Christmas list today, too.
Happy Friday!

Hmmmm . . . But Where Does This Leave Me.
Date: 2004-11-12 09:29 pm (UTC)I LOVE CITIES. But there are a lot of problems with cities, especially the way that we instist on doing them in America. Those of you that love towns (Bellingham size and smaller) need to do one thing that can be summed up in five neat little words GET YOUR ANOTOMY TO ENGLAND! Wait till you see how they do them here. The best examples that I have seen is Norwich with Cambridge as a close second. Ely is pretty neat too.
