I get it. I don't need anything else. I needed to let myself break down and cry.

I get it.

Next time, please, please, don't give me the final clue by having my car die, okay?

I mean... Come on.

It is better than some things but I would have thought all of the stupidity happening at work, the cold that just won't go away and the other things that I'm just not mentioning out loud, but you know them, were enough.

Nope. Okay.

I got it.

And yes, I know that my life isn't that bad.

I'm just really angry at myself and I feel stupid and helpless.

I hate that.

Sean's going to help, since he has AAA and I have yet to actually really thank him for that. I've been too busy crying.

God, I suck.

(No. I know I don't, I'm just frustrated and ... this is how I deal with that. And yeah, I know there are lots of people with it worse and that's why I try not to complain about things anywhere but right now I'm feeling pretty freaking miserable. So... forgive me. This once. Please. Thanks.)

So, TracerX died in the Albertson's parking lot. I think something happened with the electrical system as the car simply would not turn over but for the first attempt after that, I still had lights and even later than that, the seat belts did their best to move. I am hoping it is something simple like a blown fuse or... I don't know... Something.

Right now, I just don't want to really think about it but... well.. I can't really do that, now can I?

It's okay. Stress is stress, and hitting your limit is hitting your limit. Yeah, people have it worse than me too, but whining and crying helps get us through to the other side.

*hugs*

Let yourself indulge in the frustration. It's okay.

And now that I have a plan, I can handle it. See. If I have a plan, I can handle anything.

Well, right now I'm not sure because of the car issue. I'll let you know when I get that straightened out?

My guess would be battery or alternator but if there's one thing the world has taught me, it's that I know very little about cars.

Date: 2005-01-18 02:55 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lithera.livejournal.com
I don't think it is the battery as things were working after I tried to turn it over and even working somewhat after that. Maybe alternator... Maybe fuses... I have no idea.

You have shown yourself to be one of the most even-tempered, reasonable people I've met online. You very, very rarely complain. I'm trying to remember when you have complained, in fact. The fact that you've written this post shows me just how bad things were for you today. I hope writing this post has helped you some...and I hope you know we never mind hearing you vent your frustrations. You don't seem to do so lightly.

I really, really wish you well with the car and with better luck tomorrow. You so deserve it.

Thanks, sweetie.

I'm not that awesome. I just censor myself a lot on-line. I wish I did it more RL these days.

Thank you.

You'll have to prove to me your lack of awesomeness. I'm serious. You were likable from the start, and I've never seen proof to think otherwise. I hope things look up today.

Stupid cars!

Was ti turning over & not not catching, or was it not even turning over? ANy rerr rerr rerr noise or just "click"?

If you have a little rerr rerr rerr at first, and then the seat belt thingies were slow later, my guess is it's a battery or alternator. ($100 or so to fix, and you could do it yourself if you have the mind to)

If it was just "click", then my guess is starter or something else. ($100 or much more).

My first suggestion (to prevent massive spending of money) - take the battery out (which is super easy if you have the proper size wrench) and take it to Shucks to get it tested. They'll do it for free and it will eliminate the most obvious problem. (And new batter is relatively inexpensive - $50 to $100)

*hug* good luck dearie! And if you need any sort of help, let me know.

It's not even turning over. No noise, no attempting anything and no click. I just bought a new battery like a few months ago and if that's dead, well, than that sort of indicates that something else is going on in there anyway, doesn't it?

Tonight Kris and I are going to see if it just needs more juice and see if that helps at all and if that doesn't help, than Sean has AAA and we're going to get it taken in somewhere.

As for help... Well, I could really use a few hugs and someone to help me not feel like a stressed out wreck because of this but... We take what we can.

My guess is the starter. With all of this rain & wet, it's pretty common for starters to die.

Good luck to ya.

Yeah. That's my guess too. And pretty much everyone else I've talked to's guess.

I'm just hoping it isn't like stupid expensive. I /like/ having a car.

If you really want, I can see about coming up there this weekend and changing out the starter for ya.

Shucks tests starters, too. ;-)

Well, right now it is sitting in the middle of the Albertson's parking lot. I can't just let it sit there, so, either way, I have to get it taken somewhere or fixed ... like... tonight. I'm not sure how long they'll be cool with my car just sitting there, even if I did tell them it would be and appologized and stuff.

Thank you much for the offer and the try to save me money and I really do appreciate it. I don't even have a clue where to start and the people I know who do are too far away.

*nods* The idea was to have it towed to your house, but that could possibly result in more towing later depending on what's wrong.

Probabally best ot have it towed to a shop where they can fix whatever's wrong.

There is nothing to forgive for you having some feelings m'dear. And I can't really recall the last time you complained about... well anything. Except the occasionally crappy movie. :) Shit happens, sometimes folk can just use some care and support from their friends.

The solenoid is annother element of the electrical system that can be bad and cause the batery/ starter combo to go out. I seem to remeber my folks having to deal with this.

I found this (http://www.autoeducation.com/autoshop101/electrical.htm), if it helps. /shrug/ It all sounded very familiar to me, my batery having gone out right after Christmas. :/
