by 42 votes. 42! Come on!

The Deomcrats say they want another recount but... Should we have to wait longer for another recount?

I didn't want Rossi to win but... 42?

Read this story and note the oddities of the counting.

After learnign this yesterday, I saw, hell yeah, we need another count.

Mmmm. Well, I think any time you do something with this many individual items where will be some human error. I mean, where do you stop? Do you stop when you get the same result twice in a row? I don't know if that will happen. There needs to be some room for human or machine error in there, even if it does suck.

The machine error rate on optical scan is at least 1 in 500, probably higher.

On a hand count, they take the ballots and separate them into piles. Then each pile is counted once each by two people. If the two counts are the same, great. If not, count again until they agree.

This is gonna be a lot more accurate than the machines, especially when our election is within th machines' known margin of error.

More than fair. I just don't want it to become the recount that doesn't end which very well might become the litigation that doesn't end.

Bleh.

I totally understnad that. And I don't like the way the parties are suing to count or not count votes based on whether they think it will swing the decision their way.

Me too. I think that if you need to recount, you should just recount the whole state. IO despise cherry-picking.

We could have a run-off without the Libertarian, since she clearly lost.

Hey, if California isn't above governor limbo-ship, what's our excuse?

Meh. So y'all wait another month to see who will be governor. What's the big deal? I'd rather make certain every vote gets counted.

Exactly. That's why there's a delay between election day and inaugoration day. So we can make certain the vote is done properly.

If Rossi still wins after the hand recount, then I won't be happy, but I'll accept it. But we've seen issues with Diebold machines this election, usually giving extra votes to the Republicans. I wonder if the hand recount, where we look at the cards instead of relying on Diebold machines to look for us, will be quite as close...

Odd.. that was supposed to spell-check and preview... mostly because I'm pretty sure "inaugoration" isn't how it's spelled.

Terribly sorry for that.

I want a damned hand recount. Not due to Rossi necessarly, but becuse there have been a lot of errors on those voting machines, and two counties still used those damned chad ballots.
