We have a governor...
Nov. 24th, 2004 03:13 pmby 42 votes. 42! Come on!
The Deomcrats say they want another recount but... Should we have to wait longer for another recount?
I didn't want Rossi to win but... 42?

Date: 2004-11-24 11:52 pm (UTC)Exactly. That's why there's a delay between election day and inaugoration day. So we can make certain the vote is done properly.
If Rossi still wins after the hand recount, then I won't be happy, but I'll accept it. But we've seen issues with Diebold machines this election, usually giving extra votes to the Republicans. I wonder if the hand recount, where we look at the cards instead of relying on Diebold machines to look for us, will be quite as close...

Terribly sorry for that.

Date: 2004-11-25 12:01 am (UTC)On a hand count, they take the ballots and separate them into piles. Then each pile is counted once each by two people. If the two counts are the same, great. If not, count again until they agree.
This is gonna be a lot more accurate than the machines, especially when our election is within th machines' known margin of error.
