Because Steph asked... and why not?

So, I left work and went to the doctor. I got to the building and walked in and felt a little better. It doesn't have that clinical feeling that most places have and that is one of the things that sets me off the most. I went up the the desk and got a clipboard full of papers to fill out. I had to sign lots of forms and say that I understand that UW is a teaching hospital and if they take anything from me they could use it for research or teaching. All to the good, I say. If I can help someone learn or make a discovery... Excellent.
I'm still filling out paperwork when they call me back and I get weighed. I've lost weight since the last time I was weighed. Not as much as I'd like to have lost but still, I've lost weight. The nurse took my blood pressure and I told her it was a little high. She said, "You stressed about something?" And I said, "Yeah, being here." She gave me an odd look that almost made me discount her lovely accent, which I couldn't place at all.
I sat in the room and finished fillout out paperwork and the doctor came in and said she was running a little late and that she'd be right back. We chatted a little and I told her I was nervous and she said she understood - her sister hates doctors.
It comes down to the fact that Dr. N. (I think she looks like a Nicole) Sandler and I get along well. She's about my age and was more than willing to listen to me and my horror stories "so I can never do what's been done to you". She was especially horrified by the doctor who insisted I was miscarrying. God, that was hell.
So, she gave me a bunch of perscriptions and I went on my merry way... after getting my anti-baby shot. We'll see how well this works for me. I've never tried Depo but the premise is appealing. I have to go back in a month for girly things and my teatnus booster. Yeah. I'm behind on my shots.
I got Flonase. Oh my God. I can breathe through my nose. I cannot tell you how amazing this is. I can breath through my nose and my sense of smell ... well... the world is a slightly different place. I got ointment for my eczema, which I can tell it working already since my skin feels different. I also got migraine medication that when I take it the first time, I have to take it in the presence of my doctor... just in case. (Apparently it could cause a heart attack.)
So.... I like my doctor. Things worked out well. Thanks again, Jane! It was good to go and good to meet a doctor I could really talk to.
