So, since poker would have such a small turn out this Friday, I'm doing Harry Potter on Friday. There are showings at 7:00 and 10:10 at the Oak Tree. I'm leaning towards 7:00 unless someone can give me reasons for later.

June is a good DVD month. Quantum Leap and Wonder Woman season 1 are coming out. The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra is also coming out. So is Flight of the Navigator. There is a ton of great stuff coming out this month.

Annasophia Robb will be Violet Beauregarde and newcomer Julia Winter be Veruca Salt in the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. They're both almost entirely new actresses. Johnny Depp is Willy Wonka and Freddie Highmore is Charlie Bucket.

Rosario Dawson has been added to the cast of Sin City.

Gerard Butler is going to star in Beowulf and Grendel. Should be some interesting stuff there.

From The Hollywood Reporter: Chiwetel Ejiofor has joined Serenity, Joss Whedon's film version of Firefly. Ejiofor is the first actor to sign on who did not appear in the Fox TV series. He will play a character known as the Operative, an assassin and tracker who speaks with eloquent sophistication.

Reading the reviews of Donni Darko, the extended edition... Well, I don't know if I'll get anything out of it. If you love the movie, apparently it will thrill you with the new footage. I think it is an okay movie but it didn't do anything amazing for me. After watching The Day After Tomorrow I can say that Jake Gyllenhaal seems to play characters with bad plane luck. I think that scene in the plane freaked me out more than almost anything else in the movie.

Apparently there were test screenings of Riddick which involved plot and the audience left confused and so they're cutting the plot out of it. They're release the plot version of the movie to DVD. I think I'll wait for the plot version, thanks.

(1) Alecia and I are already going Oak Tree 7 PM, so maybe I'll see you there.

(2) Between SCTV, the new Doctor Who eps, Simpsons S4, and (maybe) QL, it's going to be an expensive movie month.

(3) Plot? Plot? ;)

plot.... WHORES

Your title depressed me. I got all excited thinking, "It's FRIDAY!?", then realized it was Monday, and got very depressed. Of course, now that I realize that it is, in fact, Tuesday, I feel a bit better.

Yay for flight of the navigator! Oh my gods, I grew up on that movie. Whenever someone says the word 'leak', I want to say "I don't leak, remember? YOU leaked." But I always figure they won't get it and I'll have to explain for 10 minutes.

And I LOVE Donny Darko, but I have a feeling I'll have to cut my love for Jake to just Donny. I can't see him as anything but Donny.. in TDAT, he *kept playing the same character*.. angsty smart kinda-soocial-kinda-not kid? Yeah. But I loved it in DD, so I'll just stick to that...

And psshaw for Riddick with no plot.. I'm already kind of worried about it (because I had hoped it'd be really good) since pitch black seemed to be so eath-centric, and I'm not sure I like what they seem to be doing with the universe. I'll prolly go see it anyways, then cross my fingers that the plot makes things better.

*sigh* Why do movie-makers base decisions on the thongs of stupid people instead of us intelligent movie-fans? Oh right. Money. We should do something to fix it. Like, maybe, every time someone says, "wait.. who's that character again? Why's he talking to that guy?" We should charge them $50, and use it to go to movies ourselves. Hmm.

When you say "no plot" do you mean that they excluded references to Pitch Black or that they were like, this movie's got Vin Deisel, it's got explosions... what else do we need to put in here?

There was a plot in the movie. Apparently the test audiences didn't get it. So, they're cutting it out and making this into a standard summer popcorn movie. I don't know what the plot was going to be but theoretically this stuff sets up Pitch Black somehow...

Oh, what have we here? Little Miss "I require plot in my moving pictures". Did thee attend scriptwriting class at Vassar or something? Get with it, its all about the explosions these days. I can't wait till the next Fast and the Furious sequel... or Prequel?*

Hooray for Lost Skeleton!

*Just kidding. Disregard this section of the reply.
