News, news...
Sep. 12th, 2003 10:04 amThe WB has ordered a pilot for a new series based on DC Comics' “fastest man alive," according to Variety. It sounds interesting, but wacky. According to Variety piece, the Flash will each week be sent on a time-travel mission to the past or the future. (Yes, the Flash is fast enought to do that but it's not like he does it all the time.)
The last MTV Spider-Man is tonight. No word on a continuation of the series or not.
Lost in Translation is a new movie with Bill Murray. It looks really, really good. I want to go see it. a quote from a review on Comingsoon.net: "Bill Murray plays rundown movie star Bob Harris, in Tokyo to do commercials for a Japanese whiskey company. His inevitable jetlag and problems sleeping are compounded by an impending mid-life crisis and family troubles back home, forcing him to spend his free time drinking at the bar. There, he meets Charlotte (Johannson), a young woman tagging along with her photographer husband (Ribissi). The two strangers strike up a fast friendship as they travel through the streets of Tokyo, experiencing the strange culture of the city together."
Bits and pieces of things elsewhere - Family Guy movie is given a go.
Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire rumor: A four hour single movie with an intermission looks like it might be on the cards for the fourth 'Potter' movie according to Wizard News.

Date: 2003-09-12 10:38 am (UTC)Ebert raves over Lost in Translation. It sounds a little like a middle-aged version of Before Sunrise, actually. I'd like to see it.

Date: 2003-09-12 10:43 am (UTC)I'd love to see it. I've heard that this is Bill Murray at the best he's ever been - a landmark piece of acting for him. Opens this week in NYC and LA and elsewhere over the course of September.

Date: 2003-09-12 11:01 am (UTC)"Have you heard about this show, The Flash, Paul? It's about this guy, see? And he can RUN REALLY FAST! He can run two hundred miles an hour, what do you think of that?"
"I don't know, I think it might come in handy to be able to run two thousand miles an hour."
"Not two thousand! Two HUNDRED! Two HUNDRED miles an hour. Don't make it RIDICULOUS, Paul. Don't make a MOCKERY of it."
