I like comic books. I'm happy with this as most of these have been trying to be made for like twenty years. Had they spread them out, it wouldn't have been such a glut.
The fact that it's a glut is the problem. Studios are just piling on, snapping up properties, and when they do this it's not because the story deserves it, it's because they can make money on opening weekend, and that means the story is more likely to suck, because the studios don't care.
If these had trickled out over 20 years, then I would expect to see some craft in them, because they'd be expected to stand on their own merits. This way... eh. Retellings and reinterpretations of origin stories forever and ever.
