Well, it looks like Shiva has been cast. Hmmmmmmm.

And it looks like New Line Cinemas might be fast tracking an Iron-Man movie.

that Darkstrike guy sounds more like Azrael than Nightwing... I wonder if he's the actual inspiration...

I don't know. They're taking all sorts of things and playing around with them. As for Azrael, I've never really liked the character much. There was potential there, but it never really caught me.

agreed. Azrael is the poster child of wasted potential. Never really grew beyond his use in the Knightfall storyline, which is surprising due to it being Denny O'Neils's baby... I much prefer his run on the Question, which was awesome although mostly forgotten nowadays...

Yeah. That entire Knightfall story line is when I stopped reading Batman for awhile. The idea was cool, but I just didn't like the way it was carried out.

I know Hollywood is all about imitation and stuff, but I'm already sick of the comic book movies, and most haven't even come out.

I like comic books. I'm happy with this as most of these have been trying to be made for like twenty years. Had they spread them out, it wouldn't have been such a glut.

The fact that it's a glut is the problem. Studios are just piling on, snapping up properties, and when they do this it's not because the story deserves it, it's because they can make money on opening weekend, and that means the story is more likely to suck, because the studios don't care.

If these had trickled out over 20 years, then I would expect to see some craft in them, because they'd be expected to stand on their own merits. This way... eh. Retellings and reinterpretations of origin stories forever and ever.
