My present to me

So.

I've been feeling generally down and upset and a lot of things recently. It is a good thing since looking back, I'd disconnected from all of that and even though feeling that way is bad, getting back in touch with feeling in general is a good thing.

On Tuesday I got my new corset in the mail. I'd ordered it forever and a day ago but it came! Huzzah! I've been looking for shoes for this forever. Seriously. Since before the trip to Amsterdam and I hadn't found anything. NOTHING that I liked. It doesn't hurt, however, that clothing styles that I like are coming back into fashion now. Lace and pinstripes and corsets and vests... Mmmmm.

So, yesterday, I went out and bought myself some ridiculously expensive leather shoes. (Italian leather, in fact.) I liked they way they look and then I tried them on. Never before in my life have I experienced heels that were actually comfortable to stand in. Especially ones that make me this tall.
( May I introduce you to my new shoes... )

So. Ideally, I want a hat to go with all of this. And maybe a cane. I need to go buy some fishnets as well. I have skirts that will work but I haven't found one I really, really love for it yet. I will be looking, though!

The party is the 21st starting around 7. As usual, there will be stew and snacky bits. There will also be my giant assorted bar but if you want to be sure that there will be something there - bring it yourself. I will be mailing out snail mail invites shortly.

I don't have anything I can say right now about the legislation that passed. It just makes me ... very angry. We all need to remember this when it comes time to vote.

Huh. Iron Man has been cast.

Tony Stark will be played by Robert Downey, Jr..

So. This could be brilliant with two ifs. If the Downey who I've seen recently shows up and not the guy who was phoning it in while he was totally screwed up. The other if is, is we get the eventual pay off of multiple movies and we get to see Tony drown in a bottle and try to pull himself back out of it again.

Not as important as torture but I needed something lighter.
