My present to me

So.

I've been feeling generally down and upset and a lot of things recently. It is a good thing since looking back, I'd disconnected from all of that and even though feeling that way is bad, getting back in touch with feeling in general is a good thing.

On Tuesday I got my new corset in the mail. I'd ordered it forever and a day ago but it came! Huzzah! I've been looking for shoes for this forever. Seriously. Since before the trip to Amsterdam and I hadn't found anything. NOTHING that I liked. It doesn't hurt, however, that clothing styles that I like are coming back into fashion now. Lace and pinstripes and corsets and vests... Mmmmm.

So, yesterday, I went out and bought myself some ridiculously expensive leather shoes. (Italian leather, in fact.) I liked they way they look and then I tried them on. Never before in my life have I experienced heels that were actually comfortable to stand in. Especially ones that make me this tall.




So. Ideally, I want a hat to go with all of this. And maybe a cane. I need to go buy some fishnets as well. I have skirts that will work but I haven't found one I really, really love for it yet. I will be looking, though!

And truly, I sympathize with the shortness. Damn modern American culture for pushing early childhood nutrition! It makes for herds of two meter tall mutants. Someday, we shall kill them all. Some day...

Seriously. I didn't think that was possible! And the store said if there is ever any issue with the shoes I can bring them in and they'll fix them.

And I always wish I was about two inches taller than I am. These are... well.. taller than that. Enjoyably so.

I've been trying to find a top hat online for about 5 years. I've ordered a couple but they are too BIG for my head, so then I rodered a child's one which was too small.

When Leigh bought her in a Tux Shop (yes, that was the name of the place) it was actually a little small, and it was a "medium". Might be worth looking into at least - not that they're that great of top hats, but you could try before you buy...

Well, I want it to be black and long. A comfortable material and not stretchy because that tends not to look good on me. I would prefer if it were pinstriped as well but that could be a challenge in matching stripes or coming close enough. I just have a hard time finding things I like that fit me.
