Wow.

It was a really good weekend. Having that extra day in there really helped me out a lot. It's amazing how much more you feel you get done knowing you have another day to do it all in.

Part of it was that on Saturday Morla ran away. I know, I know. How can a turtle run away? Well, I took him out of his tank while I was cleaning it and suddenly *poof* he was gone. It took us awhile to find it but happily we ended up cleaning all of the living room because of it. Later I even mopped the kitchen floor. I was very proud of myself and my small cleaning frenzy. Morla was found and put back into his tank. He's a piggy turtle, eating everything I feel him. He's going to get bigger. He wont' be able to hide then. HA!

What else...? I went to see The Day After Tomorrow. The science in it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. While not everything in the movie was anywhere near plausible, it mostly possible. it is a good thing to keep in mind, though, that the planet has ways of taking care of itself.

Bowling on Friday was awesome. I need to go do that some more. I'd forgotten how much of a workout it could be. My legs and knees and my right arm were all feeling it the next day. I used to be really good. I will not be satisfied with a 134. Oh no. Not at all.

Gatekeepers last night was great. It was better to see Brian and to hang out with him before game but I really hadn't realized how much I had missed that game until I was playing it again. Gods, gods everywhere and not a benevolent diety in sight. Too bad, really.

So. Today is work fun. Some general grumpiness and pain on my part but I think I'll be okay. Kris fly, flies away to Rome and I am certainly envious of her opportunity. Italy is amazing. Some day I would love to go back, to go to Rome... To go to the places I haven't seen.... Too many places, not enought time or money. Drat it all.

I've been in an amazing mood recently. I have great friends. Thanks all of you.
So, since poker would have such a small turn out this Friday, I'm doing Harry Potter on Friday. There are showings at 7:00 and 10:10 at the Oak Tree. I'm leaning towards 7:00 unless someone can give me reasons for later.

June is a good DVD month. Quantum Leap and Wonder Woman season 1 are coming out. The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra is also coming out. So is Flight of the Navigator. There is a ton of great stuff coming out this month.

Annasophia Robb will be Violet Beauregarde and newcomer Julia Winter be Veruca Salt in the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. They're both almost entirely new actresses. Johnny Depp is Willy Wonka and Freddie Highmore is Charlie Bucket.

Rosario Dawson has been added to the cast of Sin City.

Gerard Butler is going to star in Beowulf and Grendel. Should be some interesting stuff there.

From The Hollywood Reporter: Chiwetel Ejiofor has joined Serenity, Joss Whedon's film version of Firefly. Ejiofor is the first actor to sign on who did not appear in the Fox TV series. He will play a character known as the Operative, an assassin and tracker who speaks with eloquent sophistication.

Reading the reviews of Donni Darko, the extended edition... Well, I don't know if I'll get anything out of it. If you love the movie, apparently it will thrill you with the new footage. I think it is an okay movie but it didn't do anything amazing for me. After watching The Day After Tomorrow I can say that Jake Gyllenhaal seems to play characters with bad plane luck. I think that scene in the plane freaked me out more than almost anything else in the movie.

Apparently there were test screenings of Riddick which involved plot and the audience left confused and so they're cutting the plot out of it. They're release the plot version of the movie to DVD. I think I'll wait for the plot version, thanks.
.. but I think I have to put Dream On by Aerosmith on my top 10 list of favorite songs.
