...the two and a half hour commute.

No. Seriously. I was going to post this mornign about the awesomeness of game with Brian last night but instead, I will regale you with my commute.

I got on the bus around 7:15. There was a small accident right there. No big deal. We drive and drive and drive and I notice that before the Aurora bridge we've stopped moving. Huh, I think to myself, how about that. These things happen from time to time, you see since they're performing some sort of arcane construction over there meant to make traffic better but probably just mirroring other roads turned into arcane symbols elsewhere in the world. For now it just makes things suck.

About ten minutes later I notice that we've made it on to the bridge and the driver announces something over the intercomm that no one in the back of the bus understands. There is something about Aurora and Seattle Center. Now this bus doesn't normally go to the Seattle Center but I shrug and call up Kris to see how she is doing. She hasn't made it to 520 yet. That sounds promising. Really.

I continue reading, after calling work to tell them I will be late since it is now after 8 o'clock and I have to be in by 8:30. They make another announcement saying that they have closed off Aurora and there is no getting into downtown on it. We'll be directed towards the Seattle Center.

Getting across the Aurora Bridge takes 40 minutes.

I finish my book and notice that we've gotten over the bridge and have passed where they are diverting the traffic towards and gone on since we are a bus. Then we hit all of the other traffic that got there before they started diverting it. We sit around for another 20 minutes and we're finally directed onto Queen Anne. I call Sean and tell him not to bother with the world of driving. This is the worst traffic in the history of traffic.

Finally we get onto 5th and I get into the bus tunnel and take a bus to here - the International District. I find when I get here that I have a meeting scheduled at 10:30. *sighs* This will not be a pleasant meeting, I don't think. I was given the option of bowing out of it by my boss but that won't really fix anything and I should be there. Responsibility and all. I have it.

I need a hair cut.

WHHHEEEEE

You know what I did this morning?

I got myself a peppermint mocha as a treat for my wretched commute.

You know what's happening now? This is me pinging and my heart trip hammering because I haven't had this much caffeine in months!

Hee hee hee hee hee hee.

Really. It's a great feeling except for the feeling that I can't breathe and my heart is going to explode. I type so much faster this way.

Did I also mention I'm more easily distracted?

*shudder*
... completely hilarious.

Harry Potter Puppet Pals.

lithera: (Love you)
All of my meetings today have gone well. They've amazingly curtailed how much other stuff I've been able to get done but that's to be expected.

I'm glad they've gone well because it's obvious I'm not to be trusted with anything that is critical of me the past few days. Rar, rar, rar, rar. I understand that constructive criticism is an excellent thing but over the past few days it has severly put me on edge - so much so that I've had to restrain myself from snapping at good friends for trivial things. Really trivial things.

One of these days soon I think I'm going to write a long, long post about what I'm thinking. It just takes a lot of courage for me to write up that sort of stuff. It is infinately easy for me to speak about things that have happened in the past. They're over with. It's much harder for me to talk about what I'm thinking about right now.

Especially because I can't do anything about any of it other than wait and see or wait and think some more.

I'm not good with things I can't plan for. Even when I'm being amazingly spontaneous, there are typically plans running like threads through the tapestry of the event.

Chaos in pattern and pattern in chaos, after all.
