lithera: (Rar!)
Went to the baseball game Thursday. It was pretty good. Fun hanging out with Jeff, Jamie and Mike. Garlic fries are good. Yum, yum.

Friday I slept in. A lot more than I would have thought. Then I got up and Sean and I got underway. Wheeee. It was nice to drive out onto the penninsula. The place we eneded up was definately a more grown up sort of vacation place. It's a place to take families or for older married couples to go. I made dinner and we watched Black Hawk Down and then Zoolander. You really need something like Zoolander after Black Hawk Down. I still twitch.

Saturday was more driving, as we went the long way to Mike's place. Of course from where we were, there wasn't really a short way. Stopped at Hoodsport and got some wine, yum, yum. Drove through Port Orchard and stopped at the A&W for lunch. That was a trip back in time. Things have changed there, but a few things are better. Probably some things worse, but hey... They aren't as obvious and that's nice. Went to Mike's birthday barbeque thing and that was pretty sweet. I played with David and that was a great bunch of fun. The barbecue sauce was great, too. Home made. Yum, yum.

Sunday was more sleeping in and eventually game. It gets to a point where you just don't want to know. There are wacky, wacky things about your character and you just don't want to know. Okay, so in character, I want to know, but out of character... Not at all. There are enough wacky, wacky things going on here already, aren't there? I'm sure it will be fun, either way.
Feel free to ask me a question or two. The interview thing is fine, but I'm generally all for questions. There aren't many I won't answer. So... Ask me something and I'll post the answer. (Or if for some reason you don't want me to, I can always e-mail it to you.)

I'm getting a little burned out on gaming. I'm not sure what I want to do about it yet, but I can feel the burn out hovering in the background. Some people can game every other day. I, however, cannot. (Thank goodness I'm not trying to, either.)

I'm a little tired this morning. The guy in the office with me this morning either played rap with lots of words in the songs I don't want being said while I'm on the phone... or easy listening that puts me to sleep. So, I listen to my stuff but I can only wear headphones for so long. Especially when I'm making phone calls.

Wow. This one sheet for Peter Pan rules. It makes me all shivery. I hope the trailer is with The Hulk. I want to see it soon.
Lots and lots of stuff today. )

Apparently... But I had to post this...

From Penny Arcade:

"Italian is cool because it can warp space-time.

Let's say that someone is just saying "hi" to you. The Buon comes out okay, we're good so far. Even the G is good. But when we get to the iornooooooo, minutes can turn into hours. I was talking to a guy at this place and he was like "Buon" and I was like, "Yeah, great. Look, I need to be somewhere this week." "

This makes me laugh. I can still remember Lu telling me that "You Americans never say your double consonants" and then we practiced the ll in bella for a few minutes before she was satisfied with my pronunciation.
Have you ever listened to a song and wished it was written for/about you? What is it? Alternatively, what song do you identify most strongly with?

Well, it's horrible and it's cliche but "On My Own" from Les Miserable was something that I identified with very strongly from Jr. High through part of my second year of college. Then I got angry. I started really identifying with "Wish" from Broken by Nine Inch Nails. I still listen to that very loudly when I need to get something angry out. After that time it gets harder to pinpoint something.

How about a book that molded you as a child?

Well, I know that A Wrinkle in Time had a lot to do with a lot of things. It introduced difficult concepts for me at the time. I can't think of any single book other than that one that really molded me, but I've certainly gathered lots and lots of ideas from many of them.

PS. I hate doing self reviews.

There are too many comparisons between Alanna and Anita Blake.

If anyone becomes a vampire, I'm in trouble.
