Some vaguely related things...

I think I'm added Ben Affleck to the list of people I'd love to sit down and have coffee or a beer with. He seems like a funny guy and talking to him would be great. One of these days I'll actaully have to write that list down.

genre - 1 : a category of artistic, musical, or literary composition characterized by a particular style, form, or content
2 : KIND, SORT
3 : painting that depicts scenes or events from everyday life usually realistically

I've been wondering about what conventions make a genre and when can you bring things from outside a genre into it and make it still work. It's obviously a skill and takes some talent to do... I've been thinking about this since I read Jo Walton's dragon book and it has been re-enforced many times since then. There are certainly genre's whose lines are more blurred than others, but how can you tell when you've crossed them? Is it someting you can see for yourself, or is that another thing a proof-reader or editor can do for you?

It hasn't really been cold recently, but it has been that temperature that goes right through me and causes my joints to ache. Meh. I don't think I'll get old. I think I'll just fall apart instead, thanks.

I hate Ben's Sailor Moon calendar. I want to go scribble a mustache on Usagi or something. Why can't they make more Outer Senshi stuff?

"A League of Their Own," a two-part episode of Static Shock guest-starring the Justice League, will air on Kids' WB! on Saturday, March 1 and Saturday, March 8.

Have I mentioned that I love Cartoon Network? LOVE THEM!!! Some highlights:
* Teen Titans, an action-adventure series about a group of teen-age superheroes led by Robin The Boy Wonder, will premiere in August 2003.
* 20 new half-hour episodes of Samurai Jack, starting in May.
* 26 new half-hour episodes of Justice League beginning in October
* Cartoon Network presents the U.S. television debut of Rorouni Kenshin. 95 episodes of the Japanese series will premiere on Toonami, beginning in March 2003
* 52 episodes of Jackie Chan Adventures.
* 43 episodes of X-Men: Evolution.
* 13 new episodes of The Brak Show have been ordered and will air in 2003.
* 26 episodes of animé series Trigun will debut starting in March.

And the Clone Wars shorts... Gennedy Tartakovsky was approaching that level where I put him in my pantheon of people whose work I will follow just about anywhere... This could put him up there.

He he he he he!!!! I will be able to see all of the X-men Evolution series that is out. Excellent! Now just if they make more.... I'll know next Tuesday. And so much good anime! Eeeeee!

Okay... The House of the Dead movie looks like B-movie zombie fun.

Wow. - Variety reports that Matt Damon, Heath Ledger, Robin Williams and Jonathan Pryce are in line to become MGM's fairy tale cast for its comedic actioner Brothers Grimm. In development at the studio for nearly two years, the film is now on the fast track for a 2004 release under the direction of Terry Gilliam.

It's been confirmed that Alfred Molina is going to be Doc Ock.

Ha ha ha ha ha. I hate those ads too.

Apparently Jennifer Garner reads comic books. Or has started too. She's starting to talk about where she would like Elektra to go, if she has anything to say about it in the end. "Elektra is such a dark character," Garner observed. "If you read especially the [Frank Miller] comic books and even after that, she is dark. She just gets darker and darker. I mean, the chick visits her own grave — it's not normal." She also says she'd be interested in seeing Elektra and Wolverine interaction - as well as Order of the Hand stuff.

I think this is super cool. I want one of these. Rogue's eyes are awesome. So... so... Yeah.

Ther ewill be one more X2 trailer beore the movie comes out. Probably towards the end of March, I would guess.

The new issues of Batman and JLA will be mine soon. I've missed Firestorm. So much. I'm not going to spoil the joke, but I appreciated it. Green Arrow and Seattle ... Though someone needs to come and look at the Space Needle a little more before drawing it.
For those of you who have QuickTime - here is the Johnny Cash singing Hurt video.

I'm not sure how I like it. There are points when he gets into it that it is really, really good. The rest of it seems rather bland.
Huh.

Well.

The Hulk could be a much different movie than I thought it would be.
