Well, it seems that I am in concordence with my horoscope for once. They all seems to be saying that I should expand my social circle and include new people. I think I've been trying to do that. I've renewed friendships that were left behind in the dust of time and I've found some new people. All in all its pretty cool.

I think I need to spend more time with Julz and Tina in specific. It occured to me last night, not for the first time, that I really am friends with more men than I am women. I found myself cooking for a room full of guys last night. Some part of me found this extremely amusing. ..... But that leads me to want female companionship for the first time in awhile. I've always been better friends with guys than girls. I think that's because we had similar interests. I like comic books and video games and role-playing and the beating each other with sticks often also called "sparring".

It is good to find more girls who like some of the same things I do. It is very good.

I remember after my first D&D session in high school how all the guys looked at me afterwards in shock. One in specific commented, "You know, these girls are cool. We need to find some more of these." That was the begining of a wonderful friendship.

I'm doing a lot of this cooking thing recently, too. Pot roast, spaghetti squash... I think I'm going to do fajitas and guacamole sometime soon. Maybe not this evening, but soon.

Talked a lot to Julz this morning. It was a good conversation. It made me sorry to go into work. One of these days I just want to hang out and chat. That would be great.

Movies I want to see:
A Knight's Tale - Cheeze or not, it's got jousting and great costumes from the look of it. The sets look good too.
Shreck - Twisted Fairy Tale.

I must get warmed up for the summer movie season.

I dream about cuddling. Kevin says that makes me a woman. Do I count as one of your female friends?

Feh...

First of all, it's not an insult to be a woman. There are people who make it seem that way sometimes.... but I guess there have to be skanks, air-heads and bitches.

Secondly, as we discussed last night, you're too much of an asshole to be a woman. *grin*

No, while I know women who would kill for your hair and to be as skinny as you are, I don't think you count.

Female friends are a rare commodity, and I treasure mine. I'm glad you consider me a friend, Kat.. I like how our friendship is blooming.

Female friends are easy to come by if you're male, though. Or maybe it's just the males who dream about cuddling?

This makes me think about things...

There has to be some sort of social dynamic that this fits in. I know it isn't true that all women have mostly male friends or the other way around. I wonder why that is in this situation.

Is it because of the group we're in? There are less females to start with? Is it because guys are easy to understand as friends? Is it because of something else?

Hmmmmm...

I find it's easier to hang out with women, in general. Men are great because there is the no bullshit factor (generally). Women are great because I can flop on their laps and say "Play with my hair." Well, I can do that with /nearly/ all my female friends except for Holly because she's a stingy bitch. ;)

I think that's why I started hanging out with guys more. They weren't playing most of the stupid social games everyone else was. At least the ones I was with.

It has been my experience..

A lot of women are catty, false, and back-stabbing. They look at other women as competition, and plan accordingly.

They are much nicer to men because the whole point of being competitive is winning a man. Hence why men have lots of female friends.

There are women who aren't catty, false, and back-stabbing.. and they tend to like guyish things, like comic books, gaming, video games, cars, and other stuff. They tend not to be able to be friends with women that aren't because they don't put up with the bullshit factor.

Then you find one or two other girls who like comic books, cars, and gaming.. and we're rare as hell.. but worth being friends with, IMHO.

Not that I've put much thought into this..

Speaking of comic books, do you read any right now? I think you'd like Strangers In Paradise.

I need to go to Golden Age. I don't have the money to pick up my comics right now. Next pay check. You wanna come with me when I go?

I really think you'd appreciate Strangers In Paradise. I really like Katchoo as a character, then of course, like sociopaths, I have a weakness for a good butch female character.

What am I reading right now in comics.....
X-men (2 titles), Batman (6 titles), Strangers in Paradise, Hellblazer (couldn't resist John Constantine), W.I.L.D.Cats, JLA, Wonder Woman... I think that's it. I want to pick up Green Arrow now that he's back

I get paid every two weeks. Getting paid every month would be a possible finaincial nightmare for me.

Where is The Dreaming?

Heh. You know, you wouldn't be so broke if you didn't buy so many comics, Kat.

I spend about $40 on comics every other month, if that. It's something I buy when/if I have the money.

Now that I'm not paying all the bills, the money thing isn't a problem so much. I don't have lots of money, but I'm not skipping eating because of lack of money anymore.

That and the .50 cent raise and the overtime I'm doing really have helped. The extra 80 or so a paycheck after taxes is enough for me to eat on.

The Dreaming is on the north end of the Ave in the U District. I used to live a few blocks from there.. and now it is just a short drive to the place.

Oi, I really need to pick up my comics!!!

Soon!!!

My pleasure. Sometimes I have to remember how much I enjoy cooking. It's just expensive to cook real food all the time.

Speaking of movies..

I have. I saw Dragon fighting in the style of he made for the movie at Con. He's one of the apes. He's listed in the credits as "Ape with swords" or something like that.

Kat says:It is good to find more girls who like some of the same things I do. It is very good.

Yeah you know as I start getting older I'm finding that I'm having fun with girls. When as I was growing up.. I only had guy friends, even kindergarden my best friend was a boy. Well that's still the case, but.. I've met some fun girls who I actually have *some* things in common. But it's scattered. Still haven't met many who read comics.Hmm. I still haven't bonded with one like I have with my guy friends though. New things happen in life constantly so I figure it could happen yeh. aahh, I'm tired. I was supposed to go out tonight but I drew instead (o^_^o)--Nite Kat. ZZzzZZz (-_-) zzZZzZzz
