I posted this long review on Star Wars. LJ ate it. I'm not typing it again. Not now.

The long and short of it. I liked it. It was an average movies with spots of brilliance and spots of incredible lameness.

It gets a 5 on the Keanu scale for a moments towards the end of the movie.

Happy bithrday Mr. Reznor.

And now I work more.

Toward the end of the movie? Like, which parts?

And on the Palpatine-clone theory: If he's not a clone, wouldn't he be able to mask the Dark Side simply by a) practicing excessive self-discipline to mask his power entirely (not an inappropriate power for a Sith Lord) or b) perhaps the only reason Yda could feel it in Dooku was because the count was puring it out in the heat of the battle?

Like Padme - *moan in pain* "Are you okay?" "Oh. Yeah. I'm fine. Let's go."

And the puns. The puns. God.

Its possible. I'm not sure. As I've said its just a theory and I'd like it to all be explained.

I scored Episode II very high on the Titanic scale.

Why?

1) Looming tragedy that everyone knows is coming
2) Cheesy love story

On the Star Wars Scale, I put it just behind Empire -- there wasn't enough depth in some ways to satisfy me, and I don't know where specifically it was lacking, either. The fact that Yoda opened a little green can of Whoop-ass was a definate plus on this scale.

On the Summer Scale it was a definate 7. There was enough action to score it as an Action movie without all that sappy love stuff getting too much in the way.

On the Overall Scale? *ponder* It's in the six range. High six range. Call it a 6.7 (out of 10). It wasn't as good a film as, say Saving Private Ryan, but it didn't try to be, either.

The six / seven area, BTW is, "Good, but not exceptional."

YMMV, of course. And I am insane.

There wasn't much in the way of chracter development. Most of the characters just changed. You can piece together why they change, but you shouldn't have to.

SHOWING NOT TELLING GEORGE!!!!

Anakin gave me that 'creepy stalker' vibe.
