May. 17th, 2002 09:54 amI posted this long review on Star Wars. LJ ate it. I'm not typing it again. Not now.
The long and short of it. I liked it. It was an average movies with spots of brilliance and spots of incredible lameness.
It gets a 5 on the Keanu scale for a moments towards the end of the movie.
Happy bithrday Mr. Reznor.
And now I work more.

Its possible. I'm not sure. As I've said its just a theory and I'd like it to all be explained.

Date: 2002-05-17 11:04 am (UTC)Why?
1) Looming tragedy that everyone knows is coming
2) Cheesy love story
On the Star Wars Scale, I put it just behind Empire -- there wasn't enough depth in some ways to satisfy me, and I don't know where specifically it was lacking, either. The fact that Yoda opened a little green can of Whoop-ass was a definate plus on this scale.
On the Summer Scale it was a definate 7. There was enough action to score it as an Action movie without all that sappy love stuff getting too much in the way.
On the Overall Scale? *ponder* It's in the six range. High six range. Call it a 6.7 (out of 10). It wasn't as good a film as, say Saving Private Ryan, but it didn't try to be, either.
The six / seven area, BTW is, "Good, but not exceptional."
YMMV, of course. And I am insane.
