Sad, so sad.
Jun. 3rd, 2009 11:57 amDavid Eddings died yesterday. http://www.mediabistro.com/galleycat/authors/fantasy_author_david_eddings_has_died_118050.asp?c=rss
His books were some of the first fantasy I read voraciously. While there were certainly flaws with his books, there were also fantasic characters and rollicking high adventure. I enjoyed being able to talk about them with my father, which brought us to a point where we could read Robert Jordan together. This brings home that I'm very much reaching the age where my childhood heroes are starting to die, which is an odd, odd mental place.
I'll update on other entertainment things later.
