There are just some bands that sound like themselves. You know who is playing it even if they are playing some other bands stuff. That distnctiveness is a big part of catches my attention.

What are some bands that have a sound so distinct you recognize them, even if you've never heard the song before? (Some bands catch distinctiveness by changing their sound all the time and just being ahead of the wave that rushes up behind them. I'm not counting them for the moment.)

For me AC/DC has to be one. Aerosmith is certainly one. I'm not doing well at this sort of thing this morning. I'm sure I'll come up with more later.

I liked Pearl Jam's early stuff. Later it just didn't do anything for me.

Pink Floyd is a good one. Not so sure about Supertramp, though.

I tried dating myself once, but I found that I was cold and unresponsive when I tried to show affection and often let the toilet seat up, so in the end, it didn't work out.
