Really?

And some interesting art from the Wednesday Comics book DC is putting together: http://blog.newsarama.com/2009/03/23/more-wednesday-comics-art-surfaces/

The Hollywood Reporter says that Sci-Fi Channel has greenlighted a new try for "The Phantom." The project will be a four-hour movie which, if it is well received, will then spin up into a weekly, like BSG did.

Summit Entertainment announced today that Twilight sold over 3 million DVD units in its first day of release.

The L.A. Times says that there was an explanation for Six's red dress in the finale. Did anyone see that? I think I missed it....

Dollhouse had the first episode that I really actually liked last week. Kings is seriously strong stuff. Sarah Connor Chronicles had a fantastic episode as well. Most of the TV I watch was pretty kick ass last week, which was nice.

Food for thought - Why is it I love Superman movies and Superman cartoons but the comics, for the most part, do nothing for me?

I'm there with you on the Superman thing... I read the comics for the year leading up to the Doomsday fight and then for the year after until his return and that was probably the best it's ever been and I kind of felt I'd never need to read Superman the rest of my life after that. Of course, now that James Robinson is writing I started reading again, and even he can't seem to make me care about the character. I'm about to drop them from my list.

Well, I just picked up Action because I like Greg Rucka's stuff. I'm realizing I have NO idea who these people are. I will have to do research.

surprisingly, I find of the three books, I kind of enjoy Supergirl the most... and I may keep up with that one on its own if it distances itself from the other books a little. The continuity has been tight the past few months so that if you read it on its own it would be like reading every third issue of something.

Interesting, as Supergirl is the one I'd be least likely to pick up for a number of reasons.

You know what, Supergirl has mostly ONLY been good the past couple months. I've had to review every issue of the series for Superman Homepage and it's been largely crap since it started.

As for the Superman issue, my guess would just be most of the comics are crap (and I say this as a huge Superman fanboy).

Have you considered giving... radio dramas a try? Ahem. ;)

*laughs*

I haven't, actually, though I may well be interested. I'm not so good with podcast sorts of things, I've noticed.

The beauty of podcasts is you get a program (like iTunes or something less annoying) and they grab all the episodes for you and you don't have to do anything. Although manual downloading, if that's your thing, is cool too.

If you ever feel like checking them out, drop by pendantaudio.com

I would be thrilled to hear your thoughts on the stuff we're doing.

I only started reading Supergirl when Sterling gates took over. I talked to him and JR at Baltimore Comic Con and they convinced me to give it a try. Plus, Silver Banshee right off the bat, I love that character (and she was one of the few I did the art for in the Vs. CCG)

You're an artist? Cool.

The book has only been consistently worth reading since Gates started on the book. Rucka's one issue was good and there were a couple others that were decent here and there, but on the whole it's been thirty-some issues of train wreck.

I hadn't read anything that bad until Trinity came along... and Trinity, of course, puts all other books to shame when it comes to being the worst comic ever. ;)
