Really?

And some interesting art from the Wednesday Comics book DC is putting together: http://blog.newsarama.com/2009/03/23/more-wednesday-comics-art-surfaces/

The Hollywood Reporter says that Sci-Fi Channel has greenlighted a new try for "The Phantom." The project will be a four-hour movie which, if it is well received, will then spin up into a weekly, like BSG did.

Summit Entertainment announced today that Twilight sold over 3 million DVD units in its first day of release.

The L.A. Times says that there was an explanation for Six's red dress in the finale. Did anyone see that? I think I missed it....

Dollhouse had the first episode that I really actually liked last week. Kings is seriously strong stuff. Sarah Connor Chronicles had a fantastic episode as well. Most of the TV I watch was pretty kick ass last week, which was nice.

Food for thought - Why is it I love Superman movies and Superman cartoons but the comics, for the most part, do nothing for me?

Oh for heaven's sake, let her rest in piece already!

I realize comic fanboys (and girls) can cling to their favorites beyond all reason, but is it really that hard to come up with new interesting characters and storylines that weren't first done a quarter-century ago?

Well, old favorites tend to sell better than new characters.

And she has been dead for like a decade or something this time.

That can't be true, Endsong was just a few years ago. Wasn't it? Am I that old?

Endsong was 2005, you're right but I'm going from Mags killed her, which is 2003/2004. She didn't actually stick around after Endsong and it was a seperate sort of thing. So, I'm still off by a chunk. Still, 5/6 years isn't bad, considering her track record.

I really want a quasi-non-canon miniseries that's just the X-Men having to hammer down an increasingly zombie-like Phoenix every issue.

Well, they are going to do a Marvel Zombies 4....

You know what I want? CSI: Gotham.

Ugh. Marvel Zombies has lasted far longer than it should have. It was funny and somewhat disturbing the first time, it was mildly amusing the second time, by the time they hit Marvel Zombies vs. Ash it was nausea inducing.

It wasn't really my cup of tea to start with. While I like zombies that was a bit too much for me.

And there's the problem which partly led me to giving up comics in general. I like certain characters, but they're not the Big Name Heroes.

So, I have to wait around for when they might appear and hope they don't get killed off, or hope they are written right. Usually, it's for a scene, or I have to look around for single-panel appearances.

And, there's few people to commiserate with about it, because they're not the Well Known types.

I certainly have characters who fit into that but I also like enough mainstream ones that I stay with those comics. I also find that, while I like characters, there are writers who I will read almost anything from and writers that I won't read even if they're writing my favorites.
