Annnnnnnd scene!
Jan. 29th, 2009 10:48 amPrincess and the Frog was previewed in Louisiana over the weekend. Reviews coming in are solid and it looks like the animators had fun getting back to 2D animation. C'mon Disney. Don't screw this up.
BloodyDisgusting.com has a report about Ghost Rider 2 moving forward. I don't know. I love Ghost Rider but that movie was just ugh. I'm hoping they're wrong.
Voyage of the Dawn Treader has found a new home after being dropped by Disney. Variety Reports that Fox will distribute and co-finance the film under their “Fox 2000″ division. Because Fox needs a franchise in a bad way. They've got Wolverine and that's about it.
Variety has confirmed that Matthijs van Heijningen will direct a prequel to John Carpenter's 1982 horror-thriller The Thing. The studio has set Ron Moore to write the script. Uh-huh.
And there are a few things about Final Crisis that make me grumpy and a few that make me happy. I need to read Crisis #7 all together at one time, instead of in pieces. This is probably one of those things that is much better when read all at once from #1. In the end, they even out - so far. On one hand the GL Oath pretty much never fails to make me happy when said en masse and there is a great re-appearance for a group of characters at the end. Wonder Woman's role being essentially to be pwnd, become the #1 bad guy for most of it and not have a chance to redeem herself or have any sort of heroic role at all is not pleasing. And there is an interview with Grant Morrison out there that doesn't help. At all. I don't want to go into geek rant territory but man it makes me a little grumpy that his response is pretty much, "Ehn. I don't like the character and I think she's weird." What? Really? You can give awesome moments to some of the weirdest and most random characters ever but Wonder Woman is a stumbling block?
