Princess and the Frog was previewed in Louisiana over the weekend. Reviews coming in are solid and it looks like the animators had fun getting back to 2D animation. C'mon Disney. Don't screw this up.

BloodyDisgusting.com has a report about Ghost Rider 2 moving forward. I don't know. I love Ghost Rider but that movie was just ugh. I'm hoping they're wrong.

Voyage of the Dawn Treader has found a new home after being dropped by Disney. Variety Reports that Fox will distribute and co-finance the film under their “Fox 2000″ division. Because Fox needs a franchise in a bad way. They've got Wolverine and that's about it.

Variety has confirmed that Matthijs van Heijningen will direct a prequel to John Carpenter's 1982 horror-thriller The Thing. The studio has set Ron Moore to write the script. Uh-huh.

And there are a few things about Final Crisis that make me grumpy and a few that make me happy. I need to read Crisis #7 all together at one time, instead of in pieces. This is probably one of those things that is much better when read all at once from #1. In the end, they even out - so far. On one hand the GL Oath pretty much never fails to make me happy when said en masse and there is a great re-appearance for a group of characters at the end. Wonder Woman's role being essentially to be pwnd, become the #1 bad guy for most of it and not have a chance to redeem herself or have any sort of heroic role at all is not pleasing. And there is an interview with Grant Morrison out there that doesn't help. At all. I don't want to go into geek rant territory but man it makes me a little grumpy that his response is pretty much, "Ehn. I don't like the character and I think she's weird." What? Really? You can give awesome moments to some of the weirdest and most random characters ever but Wonder Woman is a stumbling block?

Maybe Ghost Rider 2 will be like The Hulk 2? Sort of a "Ooops. sorry about that, we really screwed up that film, let me make it up to you with this one." kind of thing.

Also, how do you not like Wonder Woman? Big Three, hello.

I enjoyed the Ghost Rider movie way more than I expected. I really liked that they used the Danny Ketch leathers and chain look which was always my favorite. Too bad they didn't use his futuristic street bike too, that bike ruled. And when Johnny and Slade rode together, man that scene alone was worth the price of admission.

I mean, sure, her origins are a challenging and her creator was a little out there but EVERY character had Golden and Silver Age crack to overcome.

That was a pretty cool scene but the rest of the movie really doesn't hold up well.

Well the villains were pretty lame, I'll grant that.

The Johnny/Roxanne interaction seemed to appeal well to the mundane girl crowd I went to see the movie with. They laughed a lot at Cage's performances there.

You know, I just finished it and I'm still not sure I know what happened, but there was a page towards the end where one of the biggest mistakes of last year was undone so I'm stoked!

I'm trying to not give spoilers but I think you know my tastes enough to know EXACTLY what I'm talking about.

I know who you're talking about. You weren't the only one to be happy.

Grant Morrison is such a hack... I was so pissed off when I read that interview and his response about why Wonder Woman was given the role she was...

It makes me grumpy. I like some of what he does and the rest of it is like he's from Mars.
