Well then.

Tobey Maguire is expected to earn a record $50m in salary and profit shares from the next two Spider-Man films, as well as being granted early mornings and evenings off for them both. I guess I know why he signed, then. In the next few days Sony is expected to reveal whether Kirsten Dunst will be returning as Mary Jane Watson. I'm actually kind of hoping not because she really doesn't seem to like it.

Ben Affleck will rewrite, direct and star in "The Town," a Warner Bros. adaptation of the Chuck Hogan novel "The Prince of Thieves." Any word if he'll be painting sets or managing lighting in there too? Maybe he can make the whole movie by himself...

Meanwhile, we had a hell of a time playing Rock Band 2, last night. One of our neighbors was walking by and asked if he could play too and I invited him in. Kelly is an interesting guy and he sings /really/ loud. He apparently gets noise citations if he sings in his condo. I can totally believe it. Also, he says he rocks out at his place with Ed Brubaker from time to time. Which is a hard statement to respond to, all in all. I just said, "Huh. That's cool." because anything else I could think to say just got stupid real fast.

Other than that, I say meh. Sometimes trying to represent all sides equally is a very hard gig. Especially when people want you to be on their side. I have never ceased to be amazed how five people can be involved in something and all of them come away with different impressions of the event.

I pointed out the Brubaker thing partially because I wanted to see what you'd say. I admit this. :D The way you responded was the best of all possible ways.

Yeah. I'm not sure how much I believed him but then again, I have no reason not to.

Though, if that esteemed gentleman was walking down my street with regularity, I would, you know, hope I would have noticed. Then again.... I'm sure all sorts of things happen outside the door that I am totally unaware of.

I didn't realize that Brubaker lived here. Seattle is just a mecca for creative talent.

Have you seen anything from hi upcoming Incognito yet? Supervillain in the witness protection program working as an office drone, it looks to be all kinds of awesome.

I hope Kirsten Dunst doesn't come back, either. Then again, I hope Tobey Maguire doesn't either, so I'm clearly not going to get what I want. :)

I actually like Kirsten as an actress... but not as MJ, I'll agree.

Still, if it would mean finding a different actress to play MJ, I'd rather she stay. I hate the idea of changing actors for a role in sequels. It'd just be too jarring, especially after three movies.

Now, on the other hand, if they wrote her out, I wouldn't complain. Unless they did it as ham-handedly as One More Day, anyway.

I would usually agree with you that its jarring for another actor to assume a role. The exception that proved me wrong was Maggie taking over where Katie left off in the Nolan's Batman series.

Honestly?

[And I was against Spider-Man OMD/BND]

I'd be okay if they reversed things in the movieverse and had Mary Jane die and Gwen Stacy became the big love interest.

I adored Gwen Stacy in the movie, even in the itty bitty role she had, and I think she'd be a great addition.

Can I please get a Black Cat somewhere in there though?

Gee? So we'll have to deal with two more movies of a buff Tobey in skin-tight spandex?

Oh...um...darn? Or something?

I need ice. Back later.
