Point the first - Happy birthday to [personal profile] technocracygirl and [profile] angrylemur.

Point the second - [personal profile] flusterbunny is here in town today. He'll be picking me up from work and we shall head out to Celtic Swell on Alki to meet Gavin and ... I'm not sure who else, really. And then he'll be crashing on my couch to head back home in the morning.

Point the next - It seems that the decision about splitting Galactica's last season up into two seasons isn't a done deal but Sci-Fi is thinking about it. They'll make the decision in January. Holding 10 episodes until 2009 would be a remarkably stupid thing to do. The longer between episodes, the more people you're likely to lose. The midseason break shows that. There is a reason Lost and 24 and Heroes are doing whatever they can to mitigate or eliminate entirely time in between new episodes.

Have fun showing off Seattle!

I'm totally with you regarding splitting BSG. I love the show, but if I have to wait a year for a final 10 episodes, I can't guarentee I'll still be remotely interested by the time they're aired.

We'll see how much showing off I get to do in the short period of time I'll have but thanks!

I'd hit the Sci-Fi museum, but then I've never been there. And I'm crazy about rocketships. :) At least your city has enough to show off that you couldn't cram it all into one day. Here, if it's not April or October, I have all of two strips downtown and then it's...er...how do you feel about caves?

We have caves too!

But yeah, if we had more time, I'd spend a day at Seattle Center and the SciFi Museum and the EMP and the Science Center and.... That whole complex of neat.

We have big caves, MAMMOTH caves!

Er...yeah. Civilization wins.

Once a year, we also have Horsey Madness. It's a lot of fun.

Er...yeah. The complex of neat still wins.

But...but...oh, yeah! We have an affordable cost of living! There may not be as much to DO, but you can stay home in style! ;)

Heh. I think I manage that well enough, though not everyone does.

Uncle. Seattle wins. :)

BTW, how's the gift shop at the Science Fiction museum? It's a sooper seekrit to my local peeps right now, but instead of pirates, I'm decorating the bathroom at my new place in Retro Space. I loves me some rocketships.

Hrmmmm. It varies on what they happen to be showing at the time and if there is anything that is neat that goes through and so on and so forth.

Couldn't hurt to ask. I didn't find an online version of their gift shop. I shall have to make due with wonders I find online, like this poster:

And this statue (well, once I get paid. Good cheeze is expensive.)

*chuckles*

I can always go check it out for you.

Don't make a special trip. If you're in there at some point and happen to see something neat, let me know, but don't go out of your way.

The Gift Shop Exhibit is usually one of my favourites at museums. That's the room where they let you touch stuff! Except for the St. Louis Science Center, where everything is hands on. It's pretty darn neat.

*chuckles* Well, there is a movie costumes exhibit that I've been meaning to go check out... and I've been putting it off... This weekend is free.

You are welcome to use me as an excuse to check it out. :) I'm a museum nut myself - science museums in particular. There's a fantastic one in Columbus called CoSci that I make it to a couple times a year. I've visited science museums in St. Louis, Toronto, Kansas City, Oklahooma City, Columbus, New York, and Berlin. I know I'm missing some cities in that list. Anyway, none of them are Science FICTION museums, though, so Seattle still wins cool points.

I'll be fulfilling my religious duties this weekend. I'm actually looking forward to fasting and praying on Friday and Saturday. It'll be a relief from packing.

Well. If you visit... I am a charter member...

Neat. What kind of perks does chartership get you?

Not much, really. I just get to be all, "I joined before other people joined!" That and I think I'm on a list somewhere. I got invited to a swanky shindig with some famous people...

Famous people who like Science Fiction!

It's still fun to be able to say "I liked this before it was cool." I wish I'd had the fundage to get myself on a similar list for the X-Prize.

Well, I don't know if it is 'cool' except the giant Alien Queen and the lift loader are pretty awesome...

Make that "what I can find online ELSEWHERE." These are from Amazon, home of many things neat. ;)

Chicago has a science museum that is WAY cool, and the NASA museum in FLA is kinda fun.

My time in Chicago is always so limited. I've made it to half a dozen other good museums there, but somehow missed that one. Go figure.

Believe it or not, I've never been to NASA. Florida's always too expensive a trip just to see a shuttle launch. However, I did discover that Space Camp (which happen to be located in Arkansas) has weekend programs for adults. Mmm....maybe time to start saving my pennies. :)

I still loved going to the Science Museum. Still need to go back to the ROM and look at the greek n Egyptian stuff along with the new section one day.
