Bjork and Jesus and Mary Chain? Rufus Wainright, Damien Rice, The Decemberists, Kaiser Cheifs, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sonic Youth, VNV Nation....

And bands with awesome names - The Fratellis and Evil Nine.

Note to self: Fly through Vegas and drive if you do this LA sucks and that way, no freaky windmills of death. Also, chances of you going to the event grounds before noon? Small. You can look at hotels some distance away because YOU'LL HAVE TIME TO DRIVE IN.

um, If I remember correct (I grew up in San Bernardino), the drive from Vegas to Coachella goes down the 15 to San Bernardino, then takes the 10 over to coachella. Flying into LA would also mean taking the 10 thru San Bernardino and on to Coachella. That is the route with windmills. You would be better flying to Phoenix and driving across the 10 to Coachella from that direction (I am fairly certain the windmills are west of Coachella, so coming in from the east side should avoid them... but you may want to double check).
