It is that time again...
Jul. 5th, 2006 12:54 pmMore movie things!
I have... well.. Spoiled myself for Spider-Man 3. Stupid not marked links. There are a lot of things in this movie that people totally aren't expecting. (If these are all true, mind you. I wouldn't mind, at all, if Raimi were putting out a lot of red herrings. And it would be something he'd do.)
Jean Claude Van Damme has signed on to play the main villain in Rush Hour 3 - Starting filming in August. Hrmmm. Does anyone care? Triads in Paris? Hmmmm. Well, Jackie is worth seeing at least.
Eric Bana will not be with the new Hulk project. Of course since it will be a REMAKE why would he want to be anyway? Seriously, Avi, put down the crack. Ugh.
Spyhunter and He-Man seem to have been put on the back burner for awhile. (Even though the producer of Spyhunter says that the movie is still on track. Really.) No serious loss, there. John Woo is going to Hong Kong to make something with Chow Yun Fat instead.
J. Michael Straczynski announced during a Marvel panel at Charlotte's Heroes Convention 2006 this weekend that David Goyer (who wrote Batman Begins and the "Blade" trilogy) is writing a treatment for Marvel Studios' Thor movie. He has also just turned in the first draft of a Flash movie.
Speaking of Batman - The Prestige is being edited and going through post-production and Chris Nolan's got another Batman movie on his plate after he's done with that.
If you're looking for descriptions of any of these, I recomend you go look here or here.
July 7 - Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, A Scanner Darkly (limited)
July 21 - Lady in the Water
July 28 - The Ant Bully, Miami Vice
A little further out:
September 8 - Hollywoodland
September 15 - The Black Dahlia, The U.S. Vs. John Lennon (NY & LA only...)
September 22 - All the King's Men (based on the book), Jet Li's Fearless
October 13 - The Fountain
October 20 - Marie Antoinette
October 27 - The Prestige
November 17 - Casino Royale, Happy Feet, Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny
December - Eragon, Charlotte's Web, Dreamgirls, Rocky Balboa, Pan's Labrynth
2007 - The Last Legion, Bridge to Terabithia, Ghost Rider, Hot Fuzz, 300...
And May 2007 is going to be huge - Spider-Man 3, 1408 (based on the Stephen King work), Shrek the Third and Pirates 3.
