Or should I say JJ Abrams news?

Apparently, from all of the reviews I'm reading, Mission Impossible: 3 miraculously does not suck. I will likely have to go see it because I'm hearing a lot of good stuff. You have to keep in mind that no matter what this isn't going to be a Munich sort of movie. This isn't going to be a realistic gritty spy movie. It is going to be like Sneakers or True Lies. So... On that level... I want to see it. It sounds like fun.

And apparently Abrams (and some other people from Alias and some from Lost) are writing and directing a Star Trek movie. Apparently it is going to be a Kirk and Spock in the younger days movie. This is interesting, mind you. The writers and the director are good choices for geek material... It has potential at the very least.

There are begining to be names associated with the Transformers movie. That makes me think that they've fixed the FX problems they were having. They didn't want to move forward until it looked right and signing of actors would be moving forward. The names included (not attached to character names) are: Jon Voight, Michael Clarke Duncan, Josh Duhamel, Bernie Mac, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro and Shia LaBeouf. Filming is going to start soon with a target release date of 4th of July next year.

There is a zombie western being made: Wanted: Undead or Alive. It had Chris Kattan in it, though, so I think this is going to be schlock comedy.

Sgt. Rock and Easy Company have a new writer I've never heard of but this is like the sixth writer, so... you've got to be getting to that point.

There is a movie out there that showed at Sundance: The Night Listener that I'm interested in seeing if it ever gets a wider release. I like it when Robin Williams actually acts instead of goes crazy on the screen. (Okay, that can be cool too but RV is certainly a pass for me.)

And no, there is still no official Batman casting for anyone. None. Give it up already. There likely won't be for a few more months at least.

I've heard nothing but 'meh' about the Night Listener.

I am going to punish the Mission Impossible franchise by refusing to see the third one. I hated the second one THAT MUCH. The only way I'd see it is if Cruise died five minutes in and Ving Rhames kicked all the ass in the movie.

I read that Transformers news, most of those actors are attached to human characters (which is already a bad sign, because NOBODY CARES ABOUT HUMANS, THEY WANT TO SEE BADASS ROBOT FIGHTS). No word on the voice cast, although the writers said they wanted the original voice cast back, which would be awesome.

Man. someone unShatner playing Kirk doesn't sound promising.

Yeah. Michael Bay is doing Transformers which is already a moment of... huh. He isn't amazing but he was really into making sure it looked right. I'm waiting at the moment on more.

I don't know how I feel about more Star Trek at all, really.

Apparently the third one is pretty good. At least that is what I've been hearing...

What, if anything, have you heard about a movie called "Art School Confidential"? It's got John Malkovich in it.

I've heard the title.

I'll see if I can find anything on it.
