I was right.

Adittedly, Queen of the Damned could have been much, much worse than it was. It also could have been so much more. Pretty much mix up what happens to which characters, take out the interesting parts and put in some random bits of fluff.

Lestat was much more like Louis and things were generally laughable.

Marius was salvagable. I refuse to admit that who was supposedly Armand was and Pandora was all but not there. Maharet was okay, but she wasn't the same without Makare.

It's worth the funny. Don't go for seriousness.

Watch for the Jonathan Davis cameo.

Jonathan davis wrote and performed all of lestats songs too (not that I'm all that big of a korn fan...but it's hard not to notice that voice)

kidney thieves also had a song on the soundtrack. They're amazing. I'm thrilled that they're getting this exposure...the only place I've been able to find them so far, is over the internet.

It was incredibly silly. My suspension of disbelief was kaput when they showed lestats band on mtv...shyeah, right...like mtv would play music even remotely like that.

The only part that I really found all that enjoyable was:

"how *did* you survive the 50's in red velvet?"
"I slept"
"oh...you didn't miss anything"
"Elvis"
"yeah, you did miss Elvis"

that, and the london goth reference...only one other person in the theater (and I) laughed at that part though. I felt...old?

seems to be a movie for the hottopic generation.
