Date: 2005-12-05 10:58 pm (UTC)You know, I was really nervous about the first one, but despite Halle Berry's best efforts it and the second one (to a more limited extent) managed to be good movies. I know a lot of that's due to the cast, and some to the writers, but... I just can't see it working as well without Bryan Singer, especially given whom they got to step in.
I was (very) disappointed with the changes to the character of Nightcrawler for #2, though, and I'm scared about what they're going to do to Beast (not the least since "Henry McCoy" (played by some random actor) already made a cameo in X2).
I just... 90+% of what the first two movies delivered was pure fanboy heroin, but the 10% they cut it with gave me the serious shakes. I can't see X3 go anywhere but down, very fast, from even that point.

Of course, I am predisposed to the hate.
That Woman has tainted the entire franchise for me.
