Thanks.

I know a lot of people who have been or are currently in the military.

Thank you. Thank you very much.

What you do is so amazingly important and I don't want any of you to forget it.

I wish I had the day off but... I don't, so that's okay.

I have hockey this weekend and that is goodness.

I have the beginings of a theory on Infinite Crisis. Need to talk to Sean about it.

Stephan Hawking is going to be at the Paramount next week.

You have a theory

Is it bunnies?

I want to know why E2 is supposed to be a better world than E1 anyway.

Heh. Because it is less dark, silly.

*grins* Really, there are a few things I liked about it but they've been gone for so long...

But no, no bunnies.

And I would like to save a spot on your couch for LotR viewing. I will likely be there, though I might have to bring my work laptop.

Well I don't see E2 being less dark than E1 is my point. Earth 2 had everyone fighting in WW2 which made people do sketchy things (e.g. Green Lantern destroying an entire Japanese town, not knowing he was in an illusion created by Brainwave), the House Unamericans Committee forced the JSA to identify themselves in the 50s or go away, Starman went insane over guilt for working on the atom bomb (I THINK that was pre-crisis continuity too), Batman was killed, Mr. Terrific was killed...

Meanwhile E1 before 1987 wasn't that bad at all. There was the Trial of the Flash, but most of the adventures were pretty lighthearted.

You're more than welcome to come. I might have to set up blankets on the floor and actually have them be used this time.

Oh, I agree. We've just got a sort of... reversal going on. At least a reversal of perception if nothing else.

That was a large part of the rationale of E2 there in the 70s. You could write about stories (Superman marries Lois, Batman dies) that you didn't want to happen in the main line.

My favorite post-IC theory (more like a wish) is that there are a bunch of different worlds that are arranged thematically. You have the standard post-Crisis pretty dark world, the wackier Silver Age world, E2 (just so we could get All Star Squadron back ;) ), a world that just has the Bat Characters and Green Arrow... That would be pretty cool and would lead to some good stories.

Think they're going to bring back the Earth-1, Earth-2, Earth Talking Vegetable Heroes?

No, actually. I don't think they're brignign back multiple earths becasue it was confusing and silly. They might, however, switch parts out or something like that.

I still don't see how it's all that confusing. E2 Superman explained it to new readers in like 2 pages in IC 2

Well, when you had all of the different Earths, I had a hard time keeping track of who was on which planets and ... such.

That's nothing that couldn't be solved by a giant flowchart on your wall. You didn't have one of those? I thought everyone did ;)

Actually, for whatever reason, I never really had a problem with it. E2 had the WWII era characters and their kids. E1 had every character that is new and/or unrelated to a JSA member. Earth S had Captain Marvel's people. No one cared much about Earth X so you could ignore them.

The problems mainly happen now when you try to remember who was on what earth when everyone's origins are so messed up.

Unfortunately, I am not able to go and see Stephen Hawking speak. I would love to someday though. I have heard that he is almost treated like a rock star anywhere he goes.

Stephan Hawking is going to be at the Paramount next week.

... for eighty-five dollars. Last time I checked. It might have gone up. Possibly worth it, but yikes.

I would love to hear your theory when you are ready to spill... I have my ideas too.
