... where things should be dropped. The past is the past and some things should stay there. There are few exceptions and most of them involve death.

And no, no context for you.

A few hours of screaming was apparently what I needed since my lungs are still better than they were before. Thank you NIN and Trent Reznor. I needed that.

I disagree. When George Lucas dies, I'll still spit on his grave. ;)

So how is the new concert? We don't get it here till the end of next month.

I liked it. It was a different set than the one I saw at Coachella. I would go again.

I was going to post somewhere within your LJ that I would be at the Key on Friday night, but my personal logistics got rather involved and prevented any suggestions of meeting either before or afterwards, which kinda sucks out loud (on a personal level, anyways)...

Was it me or was the crowd just a little sedate? It was my first show (ever) at the Key and I was surprised at how mellow the audience was; I saw Marilyn Manson in Vancouver back in '99 and the floor was one giant mosh pit, but the crowd Friday night was pretty laid back, IMHO, anyways.

I guess I was expecting something a little more...I'm not sure what, but something...I've got my tickets for S.O.A.D. for the 5th, we'll see how that goes ;)

And, tickets for Depeche Mode go on sale this Saturday...so many shows, so little time.

Yeah. I was expecting more energy out of the crowd and was a little disappointed in them. I loved the show, though.

It was my first NIN show and I really enjoyed it. The band had a ton of energy, and rocked out but the crowd just wasn't giving it back, I thought.

What did you think of that new song they did? "Not so Pretty Now?" was it called? Just a little bit bitter, no?

Oh, I love NIN concerts. Trent is an amazing performer. He's always giving out tons of energy. I love going to those shows.

I really liked it actually. I was just trying to decide if it was internally directed or externally directed.

I thought it was ok enough - but, I don't like anything the first time I hear it; I need a few listens before I can form a proper opinion; it was different in a way I can't put my finger on, it seemed more basic, less layered than some of his other material...

I get a sense that it's more external; I've read in a few places that it's a dig at either Marylin Manson or Courtney Love - and, you know, if it's on the internet, then it *must* be true ;-)

Yeah but theoretically there were digs at them before and that doesn't... It doesn't feel right. I don't know. It just seems off to me.

Yeah. The shows I saw at Coachella was all that way. He'd stripped everything down to bare bones and it took me a bit but I really liked it. I'm okay with stripping things back down. The Fragile was amazingly layered but anythign more than that would have been overkill. I'm also interested that he's added Burn fully into the set list.

Yeah. Burn was a nice addition, though there were a couple songs from Fragile I'd have liked to hear live again.

But having some Broken in the mix was good, too. I think I was yelling my loudest during Gave Up.

I'm a big fan of Broken. My favorite song is on there. There were a few songs from The Fragile I would have like to have heard too but... Ah well.

It was good.

Agreed, very good.
It was hard to resist calling in sick today and greyhounding up to Vancouver.

The problem with my ideal set list is that it would probably kill the band and run like 4 hours.

*shrugs*

I'm not that familiar with the back history between them all; just that there have been negative feelings in the past - there was a great sense he was lashing out at someone, tho...

I agree.

I just wish certain other people did.

Oh definitely.

I just wasn't expecting the lungs part.
