Lassiez le bon temps roullez.
Sep. 1st, 2005 09:41 amIt was pointed out that feeling depressed and morose about the New Orleans situation is not very... well... New Orleans.
So, I propose that we, who can gather, get together some time weekend and have a toast for New Orleans. What I'm asking is that you bring enough money for a drink for yourself and a drink for New Orleans. This means that I will be collecting money that I will donate to the Red Cross. (You can afford one drink worth of money, right? Like $5-7? More is good, though.)
I want us to have a good time and do something good at the same time. And this isn't to say that if you'd rather not drink that you're not welcome to join. I welcome questions and concerns.
So, let me know which day is best for you and where we should go. Cap Hill is obviously easier for me to get to and I love Barca but if anyone knows of a good bar that we could all get to, that would be cool too.

Date: 2005-09-02 06:26 am (UTC)I love New Orleans and the thought of it being destroyed does not sit well with me. But I think that New Orleans will survive and a year or two from no things will be back to whatever form of "normal" that New Orleans had.
