STUPID HURRICANE ME!

*ahem*

New Orleans is a city that is six feet below sea level. On once side is a sea, on the opposite is a big lake and on the right is a big river. The city will be come a bowl for water. The winds will knock things down and... Man.

I'm hoping things aren't as bad as people are saying they're going to be.

On a vaguely related note (because I still remember his pictures from it) Happy Birthday [personal profile] inevitability.

I have to say, I'm impressed with the Weather Channel's willingness to say it like it is -- the general consensus ths morning from them has been that it'll be a catastrophe, and that people who are still hanging around are morons.

Well, a lot of the people still in the city are tourists who had flights cancelled and couldn't rent cars to leave the city. People who are, essentially, stranded.

he was down by the coast at the time of the broadcast, and you could still see cars going by on the road behind him.

Oh, I know and there are still people leaving. I'm just saying that for tourists, it might be difficult to get out of town.
