Look it's Cinqo de Mayo...

Which.... I still have no idea why /we/ celebrate at all.

It's May! When did that happen? (I know... I know... a few days ago.)

Damn, this year is just zipping right by. It's a little scary.

I've contacted my main Capitol Hill contacts to look out for apartments for me and send recommendations but if any of you out there in LJ land have any leads on something good.... Let me know!

I see part of this weekend being apartment looking. And possibly driving into work a few times next week so I can go and explore some more.

I've found that I normally find the place I want to live within the first few.... So. We shall see what happens.

Drinking or no...

Cinco de Mayo is the celebration of Mexico gaining its freedom -- it's like America's 4th of July, and as such it's a symbol of freedom to Hispanics throughout the Americas.

And an excuse for the rest of us to drink. Margaritas all around!

That's cool. It just seems odd to me in a way. I mean... We don't celebrate Bastille Day, though I am tempted to from time to time.

And most other nations don't celebrate Independence Day, but because it's a symbol to not just Mexico but to Hispanics in general, the celebration is held outside Mexico as well, and the rest of us picked it up.

It was a bit odd to realize that I would be back up again in Seattle in two months. Less than that now...

Probably June 30th-July 9/10th. Though that 4th of July weekend will be mightily hectic.
