Well, apparently what the doctor thinks is happening is that all of the pain killers I had to take for my tooth wore away at the lining of my stomach.

So... I get to go take some acid production inhibitor and we'll see if that does anything. I'm also pondering eating not much more than broth since pretty much everything else hurts. Bleh.

I'd really just like to feel better. That would be nice. I mean... I'd like to got a month without having some sort of health issue because I haven't been able to do that in awhile.

I'm going to start going to kendo kata next week and whether or not I enjoy that, I think will be the deciding factor on if I keep it up or not. The people at the dojo are very, very nice but there is something about this that just hasn't clicked with me. When I was taking karate, I wanted to go. With kendo, I'm having to really gear up for it mentally and not in a positive way. So, I'll see if kata changes my perspective.

I need to go to the gym and cancel my membership because I'm moving, among other things, like just not going. I need to also buy a jump rope and look into some other things. I've got an exercise plan for when I move and I need to actually stick to it but I think I can manage it. I shall see. As shall all of you, of course.

There was something else I was going to say here and I can't remember what it was. Maybe I'll remember later.

I have a jump rope; bought it with the thought of "Hey, more exercise!". but it hurts my knees to jump. And there's the whole boobie thing -- ouch. So it's yours if you want it, and if I can find it :)

That would be awesome. I like jump roping and it is something I can do on like... comercial breaks or something, you know? I've noticed that I don't mind doing excercise (of the gym kind) if I have something to distract me. So, having my own elliptical machine at hom in front of the tv would be perfect.

I can't really afford that, so I'm trying to come up with alternatives.

If you know of a good Pilates DVD could you point me in that direction?

Ok. This is going to sound silly, but I've found agreat cardio workout to be the Tae-Bo videos. Yes. I know. But the advanced ones really work your ass out. I was a total non-beliver till the girl in St. Louis talked me into trying it.

Since I don't have a taiko workout 4 days a week anymore, this has been one of my suppliments if you will. As for Pilates, I'll ask a friend of mine who is a Pilates nut.

I know! I did Tae-Bo for awhile when I lived by myself. That stuff is /hard/. I was thinking about getting those back too.

I want to try the Pilates thing because of what it does for you, with the strengthening core muscles and changing body shape. I want to try it out and see how it goes.

Ha! That's cool, it's like the dirty little workout that works but people have a hard time admitting to :) I was thinking about trying the new "Boot Camp" one that he did.

You know you should look in to Capoeira, I used to do it in tandem with taiko, but after I was performing almost full-time with taiko I had to stop doing it a much. I recall there was a really good teacher in Seattle...Barrao? I think. If you want something that will work the CRAP out of your core group and improved both flexibility and strength, check it out.

I've always thought about that but it's always been a bit intimidating. I mean... that's intense stuff, you know? I know there is a good teacher out here and I'll be living near it when I move but.... I don't know if I'm .... up for that at the place I'm at physically....

Windsor Pilates - Leigh's done it & likes it.

Also, the workouts from www.beachbody.com are good for ya.

Sweet. I'll have to talk to Leigh about that some. I was planning on asking her about what she was doing, since she seems to have something good going on.

*nods* She hasn't been doing too good since new year's (due to allergies, sickness and general malaise), but whe she's doing it it works her ass off (literally!!!).

I know Jen Wolfe gave it a go too, so you can ask her about it as well.

*nods* I'd noticed the results. That's why I wanted to talk to her about it. I'll see about talking to Jen, too.

Do you want an exercise bike?

It's decent but not fancy, but it's been sitting in our basement for far too long.

You could probabally just up & have it if you can take it away...

Cool!

I will have to see what the place I move into looks like. I don't want to just... say I'll take it off your hands when I don't know where I'll be and that that will be like in a few months.

Yes... I'm gearing up for moving. Can you tell?

Are you leaving Seattle? A good friend of mine, in fact one of my oldest friends is moving there for a while to recoup and work on her next novel. I'd think that you'd find her keen. She's got a lj as [livejournal.com profile] kijjohnson and lived in Seattle for a number of years before she and her husband moved to Lawrence to teach at KU.

Not at all. I'm just moving back /into/ the city.

The other benefit to this is I'll start actually walking to places again, since almost everywhere I want to go will be within walking distance.

I will have to look at her LJ.

Yum satay!

I'm a big proponent of water as the ultimate medicine. Have you tried drinking enough to dilute your stomache acid?

Date: 2005-04-07 08:51 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lithera.livejournal.com
I've been drinking a lot of water. It /has/ been helping but I'm to the point where I'm starting to feel full of water and nauseous all at the same time.

Thank you very much for the suggestion.
