Apparently Poison Ivy is a Seattle girl.

Of course, having born as wealthy as it indicates, she's likely an East Side girl... Bellevue or Mercer Island, perhaps. Anyone knwo where the posh rich people lived in the '70s?

Theoretically she went to college in Oregon, which is a shame because it would have been perfect for her to be an Evergreen student. Then again... Reed, perhaps?

Hrm.

Eastside wealth is more recent.

Bainbridge. It's especially known for rich families that made their wealth in agriculture.

I get the impression from my Mom that, while Mercer Island may have been yuppie since the dawn of time, most of the East side was like the Olympic Penninsula until at least the 80s - rural, with occassionally surprisingly rich people that like to live close to the small-town marina. Kind of like the Port Ludlow-Port Townsend stretch of Penninsula is now.

Also, the bridges had tolls then, which did affect the demographics a bit.

Also, Boeing was heavily downsizing in the early 70s. Seattle economy was so depressed, the sign was posted at the city limits "Will the last one to leave Seattle, please turn out the lights?"

Uhm....I moved here in 1973 and I guarantee you there were plenty of rich people in Bellevue then. I lived in a house on Somerset hill with a 180 degree view of Lake Washington, Seattle, etc. I have pictoral proof. The REALLY rich people lived on Mercer Island and the Summit.
