So, went to see the car this morning, hoping that there was some sort of magic car fairy that wandered by in the night and made everything work. I had all of the electrical, still. Radio worked. Seatbelts worked. Lights worked. I bought a new battery in ... September? So, that doesn't likely seem the problem. Still, it could be it. I think it might possibly be the starter. I try to turn the car over and get.... nothing. Just nothing. If there is a click, I'm not hearing it.

Sean is a dear, dear person and is helping me out tonight and we shall see what is going on. I've already got a limit as to how much I'm willing to spend on fixing the car, considering how much I paid for the car (And still have a few more installments of paying into Holly's bank account.) So...

I don't know. I feel more calm but there is all of that worry and stress and tears inside of me just a few layers down. While I feel much calmer, I'm still... well... not all the way calmer.

*sighs*

I don't know what else to say. I really should get to working.

No click = probably the starter
click = probably the alternator

Yeah. That's pretty much the advice I've gotten. I hope it isn't too horrible.

Thanks!

I agree... my alternator died and my car acted the same way. They're not that expensive to replace.

Yeah. I'm really hoping it isn't too much. The car only cost a little bit and... well.. I'd really rather not just pour tons of money in after it.

I think when I got my alternator replaced, it was a used one and less than $100.

The reason why your car works today is that without the alternator, you're sucking juice from the battery. When you let the car sit, the battery recharges.

Or, it could be something as simple as a loose battery cable or some corrosion around the contacts. Lets hope for that. :D
