NO EVIL WHITE SHIT! Those of you who want it could go visit it. You know where it lives. It doesn't have to come and screw up Seattle!

It's part of winter. It is nature. It happens. Or at least it should.

No. It's why I left Montana. Seattle doesn't get the evil white shit...well not often. About every three years. We had enough last year. I wouldn't mind half so much if it didn't shut down the city.

We got like a day last year. We haven't had a really snow period since... like... 96 when it snowed for a week.

The winter of 2001/2002, I think.

A major downpouring of snow for about a day, and closed EVERYTHING for another day beyond.

The snow was around for about 3-4 days. The roads were utter crap for 2 of them.

What more do you want?

In 2001 the snow wasn't around that long for me, maybe two days. I don't mind it. I want a nice coating of snow. I want it to be around for more than a heartbeat of time.

I like snow. It might be a pain in the ass but even as I'm struggling to get home from work, I'm still happier than I am on most other average days. Snow makes me happy. I'd like it to be around for awhile.

Upon further review...

If it snows when I'm gone, there's a chance that [livejournal.com profile] moonlitlake won't be able to get into town to feed the Couses. If it snows right after I get home, it'll affect [livejournal.com profile] desertgirlva's drive to Seattle. Therefore it can snow a week from Friday.

It's amusing to look at www.weather.com 's maps for Thursday Friday Saturday....

It's snow all across the northwest, all the way down to Cali.

Silly Seattlites. Ask [livejournal.com profile] gehn and [livejournal.com profile] fraxl. Snow's been here in Boston for ages already. I hear-tell it shuts down your pampered West Coast city and you sled in the streets. Jealous.

See, the difference is two-fold.

1) No one ever drives in it, so no one has any idea how to handle it.

2) The snow we get is pretty close to the melting point. So the snow melts, then refreezes, then melts, then refreezes as the temperature fluctuates. The snow we get is more often a thick sheet of ice covering the freeways than actual snow.

Also Seattle is an EXTREMELY hilly city. Let's see you get up Queen Anne Hill on an icy day.
