Apparently the cold that Cody and Sean have has decided that it does not, in fact, wish to manifest in a normal way. It has manifested in an evil and insidious way. I'm getting vertigo, which would explain why my ears have hurt the past few days.

So... now I get to have the fun of navigating the world when my center of balance feels like it is changing every few moments. Makes me glad that I sit down most of the day at work. Getting home could be fun... Wheee!

Sounds like the bug has congested your inner ear... also part of the sinuses. Fun fun!

For the most part, yeah. This has happened to me before.

Or the middle ear. I have extensive experience with vertigo, myself, since I have an allergic ear. Soy is my trigger. Most forms of soy will irritate the mucous membrane of the inner ear, where the ossicles are, between the tympanic membrane and the cochlea. The result is mucousal build-up, which causes a partial loss of hearing (if it doesn't cause this loss of hearing, chances are that it's not your middle ear). When it can drain (potassium chloride, 6X, homeopathic remedy can clear up my worst case in a matter of two days), the results tend to be tinnitus and vertigo. I imagine your problem is more inner ear than anything else. I used to get that as a result of weather changes, but I thankfully stopped. It wasn't fun.

On the plus side, I'm quite used to vertigo (with the exception of the time when I literally could not stand because of it), and I rarely get nausous when I have it now, which is quite contrary to when I used to get it.

Yeah, I've had a ton of vertigo with this one. Most of my staying-home-from-work was due to vertigo - not wanting to drive 520 in that condition.
