I don't know. Sometimes I think about things like that but most times I either can't come up with anything or what I do come up with is a rather cynical view.
I normally wouldn't have posted this but Yesterday came up on my play list and I happened to remember that it was today... and.. ... well.. it just seemed like something to do.
Well one of my favorite genres is alternate histories so I love to speculate about that sort of thing...
Of course it depends if he were still shot at or not. In the former case, I could easily see a life is too short to not get together argument causing a reunion.
BTW John's musical career was pretty much ending. More interesting to me is how Janis and Jimi would be remembered if they had lived and continued to make music. What would Kurt be doing now?
BTW - the current Lennon single at the time of his death was (Just Like) Starting Over. There's a whole list of those floating around.
Yeah. John's musical career was pretty much ending but that isn't all he was doing. He focus seemed to be shifting elsewhere. I sometimes wonder about Janis and Jimi and even Kurt.
Then again, most times I think it is better not to have seen them all fade.
So I was talking to desertgirlva on my drive home about this (no comics today btw, big storm in OR delaying shipments), especially about Janis.
She didn't die by a bullet; it was her lifestyle. She would have had to have gone sober. I think the most likely scenario for her would be that she would become born again. She might be a little preachy about booze and drugs but I bet she would be an amazing gospel singer.
How this date escaped me, I don't know. I'll never forget staring at a paper that said FORMER BEATLE SLAIN and being so shocked that I couldn't read for a few minutes which is was...even though John's picture was right there in front of me. In my era, the Beatles were near-sacrosanct...someone murdering one of them was beyond comprehension.
Thank you for the reminder. I will later go listen to "Empty Garden" by Elton John. Sniffle.
