There was a man I met on Friday here at work.

He'd just gotten back from a vacation in Bora Bora. He was a very genial and intelligent guy from what I could tell...

He was killed yesterday flying his plane.

I... I don't know what to say right now but I'm a little bit shaken. It's always so... weird when this happens right after you meet someone.

was he flying his own plane or was this in a commercial plane crash?

(sorry to hear this)

I know that this will probably not help but it sounds as though he may have been doing something he loved to do when he died. Very few people get a pilot's license unless they really love it.

Was it an accident? "Was killed" makes it sound like he was shot down or something...

Anyway, I'm sorry. That's always really strange, regardless of how it happened. When I was a kid I went to an older (teenage) neighbor's birthday party. She met this cool european guy who was hitchhiking throught the states. I liked him.

Two days later, she identified his body, which had been found in a ditch after being murdered.

*shiver*

It looks like mechanical failure. He was doing touch and go landings and the plane headed towards the ground and just caught on fire and slammed into a wall.

It's really weird.
