Real quick like... Entertainment
Nov. 4th, 2004 04:39 pmAppparently Jude Law is up for Zod. That would be neat. I think I need to rewatch Superman II beacuse... well... Yeah. I need to rewatch because I'm not sure.
There are lots of sequels trying to get off the ground that haven't and hopefully won't. Nothing new there, really. You can include things like another D&D movie and a sequel to The Day After Tomorrow.
Darren Aronofsky is officially off WATCHMEN as director, though they're still apparently moving forward with the whole thing. Aronofsky is doing The Fountain right now and Paramount won't wait for him because they want Watchmen to be their summer tentpole movie in 2006. Who the hell else would you trust this movie to? There are a lot of new horror movie directors who might be able to pull it out....
Taranatino says he wants to do an entirely subtitled movie next - to go wholey into Hong Kong cinema style. We'll see if it happens. He wants to do a lot of things.
The eligible movies for best animated movie this year are: Clifford's Really Big Movie, Disney's Teacher's Pet, Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence, Home on the Range, The Incredibles, The Legend of Buddha, The Polar Express, Shrek 2, Shark Tale, Sky Blue and The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. Only three of them will qualify for the actual voting for the Academy Award.
Executive producer John Rogers has confirmed to FrequencySite.com the rumors that The WB has passed on the small screen adaptation of Warren Ellis' comic book series Global Frequency.
Catwoman screenwriter John Rogers is writing Transformers, the DreamWorks/Paramount live-action tentpole based on the popular Hasbro toys, reports Variety. Spielberg is apparently attached to be the executive producer. That looks like a large potential train wreck.
Constantine has been given an R rating. They're going back and reshooting. No one is sure if they're toning it down to try for a PG-13 or since they already have the R rating - kicking things up some to make full use of the rating.
"Dawn of the Dead" director Zack Snyder is adapting Frank Miller's 300. (EEEEEEEEEEE! So sweet!)
