Jack Black as Green Lantern? Supposedly "a zany comedy version a la THE MASK.” According to Moriarity this has gone from being hideous a rumor I was ignoring to confirmed.

Come on Warner Brothers. You don't have to make 3 crap movies for every good one. I wish DC had never signed that deal. I wonder what it would take to get out of it. WB is ruining properites. Catwoman is going to be thrashed. GL is likely gone. Supes might be seriously compromised unless they turn things around real fast.

What is up with this?

There was lots of campy funny stuff in the title but... No. I feel like Switch in the Matrix: "Not like this... Not like this..."

Eh... it's not like DC didn't thrash their own work ;)

Yeah, but this is even beyond that. It's just ...

Batman looks so great and this and Catwoman look so horrible.

Some of those Batmans... *shudder*. But I fully agree, this Catwoman is a bad fanboy's wet dream. Unfortunately art doean's talk, money does.

Don't mind me... I'm feeling really cynical today.

Well, that's true. This one looks really good, though. Christian Bale was excellent casting.

I should watch Equilibrium.

Equilibrium was not bad. Better than I expected it to be, anyway.

Speaking of which, I did watch Zoolander, and it wasn't nearly as bad as I imagined, either. It was even cute in places. Thanks for the recommendation. :)

I can't decide if I'm going to go see Catwoman opening weekend or not. I was all outraged at what they'd done to the character until I saw the second or third trailer, at which point I lost any emotional connect I *had* with the character, because the person in the movie is just not Catwoman. I mean, it's not a re-imaging or a re-invention for the purposes of the movies; it's an entirely different character who happens to share the same name as the comic book character. And, in fact, I think some of what this Catwoman can do looks kinda cool, and if they hadn't bungled it so much with the god-awful costuming, I might even sort of look forward to it.

But as it is, I can't decide if I want to go opening weekend to support comic book movies in general, or if I want to stay far far far away to help get the 'you fucked up' point across.

I'm glad you liked it. Now, Dodgeball is taking all of that and pushing it further onto the edge of the absurd. So much further that even some of the characters catch on to that fact.

I'm planning on watching Catwoman and drinkign while doing it.

DC should hire Ari to oversee their properties. They are fucking things up sooo badly.

This is so wrong on so many levels that I can't even cry about this.

I just can't do anything else but laugh, laugh and laugh.

Omg what moron came up with this idea?

Catwoman is the pathetic kind that you can't help but bang your head at the wall about and sniffle.

But this is so many levels beyond even that that...I'm just beyond being sad.

I could imagine Catwoman happening. I can't even imagine this happening. This is so wrong.

Laughing is all I can do.

This is a terrible idea. DC can be funny, certainly, but please, not like this. Do some characters right before you purposely set about doing them as something entirely different, really.
Catwoman is just badly considered. Someone's artistic vision conflicting with the fact that their target audience, aside from horny teenage males, is comic fans, and comic fans like the comic characters, as opposed to vague similarities... hence why any number of movies have bombed, combined with bad writing, which, sadly, Catwoman also seems to feature.
Duck Dodgers 'Green Lantoon' episode was a wonderful tribute, mostly from how right it got most of the characters, even in comedic use. A movie with decent writing doesn't have to be 'zany and wacky' to be entertaining, and Green Lantern has so much potential.

What a waste. I think I'll be among the 'avoid like the plague in the hopes someone will get the idea' crowd.
