Spidey 2...

Any movie that can make me gasp as many times as that movie did.... Wow. It didn't suck me in the same way the first one did but I was right along with that woman who said, "Go, Spidey, Go!"

I love Peter Parker. The reason I love him is that it sucks to be Peter Parker. A whole hell of a lot. He has his moments of indecision and uncertainty and sometimes he loses the path. The thing is, and this is the part of him I love the most, he just gets right back up and takes whatever life dishes out at him. Yes, he has his moments out doubt but that's because he's human and no one has ever managed to /always/ do the right thing.

Doc Ock was great. I like how they built him up into a person. I actually wanted more of that. I wanted more of the conversations between him and Peter. Go Aunt May! Whoa Harry! Such the face at the wedding, even if it was only for a few moments.

The only person I wanted more from than I got in this movie was MJ. Kirsten Dunst can do better than this, I think.

I want to see it again for the bank fight and the train fight and all of those classic Spidey poses done so perfectly. There were places where the CG was obvious but it was never pull me out of the movie obvious like in the Matrix.

All in all - go see it! GO! Now!

Oh. Goos morning. I need more sleep.

I nearly cried like four times in this movie. Granted, I had already had a hard day and was sorta teary anyways, but a few of the scenes just nearly made me break down. It really reminded me of why I love Spider-Man...Peter struggles so hard to do what's right even when life craps on him. And his birthday party, when Aunt May gave him his present...oy. The rapport between those two actors is excellent, better, I think, than what's between Toby and Kirsten.

Totally going to see it again this weekend.

Yeah. Just... yeah.

And Alex Ross' art in the begining was choice. Just so dead on. Very, very nice was of reminding everyone what happened in the first movie.

Not the largest opening night ever but close. I think it will take Spidey 1's weekend record.

Free Comic Day is Saturday!

They're now saying $40.5 million, to top both Spider Man's opening day record and Return of the King's wednesday record, but not Shrek 2's one day record. But there's still the weekend.

Most money made on opening day, but not the biggest one day haul though.

I would love to see it break the weekend record the first one holds, but I'm afraid that opening on a Wednesday will hurt its chances.

But who knows - I'm the same person that told the wife the first one could never make $100 million opening weekend.

It could hurt but it could help. It depends if it builds momentum into the holiday weekend. It could.

Holy cow. Go, Spidey, go!

Unfortunately, the screen was half out of focus for the entire movie when we saw it yesterday. Nearly half the people in the theatre got up to go complain, and we all got told they were working on it, but they weren't working on it. There was a mob of about sixty people after the movie, all pissed off. We got free movie tickets. -.- So I've got to see it again, because all the climactic stuff was out of goddamned focus. :P

The only time I thought Kirsten Dunst sounded even slightly like MJ was when she said, "Go get 'em, Tiger." I like Kirsten Dunst, but I don't like her MJ much.

Exactly. That was the only moment that I really felt she was MJ. It shouldn't take such an emblematic line for her to pull out the character, you know?

Other than that.... Eeeeee!

I found her just as much MJ as Maguire was Pete. They're slightly different characters, but they're still right on target.

I found her smile as she ran across the square in the wedding dress to be pure MJ goodness.

True. That part was MJ too.

I'll give her from the wedding scene on. The rest of her felt a little... flat. I don't know. She didn't click with me the way Peter does. I think it probably has something to do with the fact that MJ doesn't seem to exist as a character except when Peter is around. Which, I guess, was part of the point of the end of the movie.

was all of the art at the beginning by Alex Ross, even the black and white stuff?

To the best of my knowledge it was all Alex Ross. I'll look to see if I can find anything that says differently.

The end credits said it was all Alex Ross.

You /do/ realize I ha-dislike you intensely right now, right?

I'm in the middle of /no-where/ and because it's not a deployment, no new movies.

This sucks on /so/ many levels. *grin*
