Morning...

My alarms, which I thought were correct, were not correct so I did not make it to the gym this morning. Of course, even if they had been, I might not have made it. Getting out of bed this morning was a pain. I went to sleep just after 10:30... What's up with that? Why do I want to sleep more in the summer than in the winter? Rar.

And from Bizzarro land...

I'll be training all day, so... Don't expect much from me.

So many ideas. Meh.

My mind is wandering today. Wandering far, far away. Not good.

Actually, that sounds really awesome.

Don't equate Loretta Lynn with that pop crap you hear on country radio. She's ten times better than that. :)

No, no. I love Loretta. I do enjoy older country - Loretta, Hank Williams, some Kenny Rogers...

It sounds good, it just sounds weird.

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of Loretta Lynn or the White Stripes, but I kind of want to check that album out. It's getting absolute rave reviews.

It's not all that odd

She doesn't know if country radio will embrace her new album -- and doesn't seem to worry much about it, either. Most of the music she hears on the radio is too pop for her taste:

"I don't know what they're trying to do, but I knew what I was doing. Me and Jack went in to cut a country record."

The record sounds incredibly rockabilly. It also helps to confirm a theory I have that certian sentiments - getting drunk, shooting you SO, "What the hell were you thinking?" - are best expressed through punk or country.

And Nashville has been too "popppy," lately to carry some of those harder ideas off. Johnny Cash jumped ship to a more rock and roll arena, too.
