I ... I need a break.

litheraSo. I'll start writing out my vacation.
I got to Con on Friday early to find out that I was preregistered. Who knew? I didn't. Hey, any money I can save there, I can save, you know? That was sweet. We snuck into the Games That Suck panel and chatted a bit. I've decided that I want to get into City of Heroes but I don't honestly know if I have the right amount of time to devote to it. I did decide, though, that I really want to get back to playing the Monday games as we were. I miss my characters. Took a nap and was generally unimpressed with the dance and party scene that night as a whole.
What I did do on Friday, hwoever, was buy a corset. There is a picture of me over ontheda's journal. Though, honestly, the best part of that picture is the supah hottie Jenga in her hotpants next to me. I will do my best to get some pictures of me in the corset up for those of you who wish to view them. Even as much as I absolutely /hate/ pictures of me.
Saturday was full of panels and I gave out information to some people. I may be on movie pannels and such in the future. I figure when I'm generally better informed than the people giving the presenations... I should offer to help out. We'll see if anyone takes me up on it.
I also got my enabling mojo going. You see, when I really like something, I recommend it to everyone. I really like my corset. I ended up driving so much traffic to the dealer he wrote me out a promise for 25% off my next corset, off the rack or custom made. Let me tell you, 25% off means that there will likely /be/ another one at some point. That and the things are so cozy. What can I say? I like being able to hold drinks in my cleavage. It gets me looks and... well... Anything that makes me feel beautiful is something I enjoy.
Sunday was the flight to New Orleans. First we went to Denver, where the landing was the calmest, lightest touch I've experienced, potentially anywhere. Very pleasant all in all. And then I and Holly metysabel at the airport! I was disappointed in the general lack of razzing we got for the Red Wings thigns we were wearing but it made us easier to find.
It was good to meetysabel. I wish I would have had more to say but I really found myself slipping into the more listening and watching sort of role. Holly picked up the conversation slack well enough. Something I'm very thankful for from time to time. We talked HellMUSH and RPing in general and a few other assorted things. It was a good time.
The flight to New Orleans was a little bumpy but nothing like flying over the North Atlantic. We got there and the air settled on me like a heavy mantle. It was warm and muggy and it felt as though it was waiting for a storm to break any moment. I was well accustomed to the feeling of waiting for something to break, to end the waiting so we got along fine in that regard.
The hotel did not have a shuttle but we took a shuttle there and I admit to being a little cranky at that point but once I got into the van and was on my way... well, things were better. The hotel was very, very nice. Highly excellent place. I was amazed by it. We checked in and went out for a snack. I wanted to find a way to steal those beds and bring them home. So comfy.
Bengiets. *shiver* There are just some times when an experience is perfect to the moment. Going to the Cafe du Monde right then was perfect to the moment. We then walked along the river and made our way back to the hotel in order to crash and prepare for the next day.
Later today I'll tackle some more of New Orleans.
