Otherwise known as entertainment update on my break.

Star Wars DVD artwork here. These make me sigh. And then go home and pet my unaltered VHS tapes.

CHUD made a list of 100 movies that deserve more love. For all of the ones here I've seen, I'd agree.

Apparently Rutger Hauer has a small roll in the Batman movie. Did they just make a list of the coolest actors they could think of and then give them all parts?

BBC Films is reporting that producing partners George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh have snapped up the rights to Barbara Goldsmith's book, "Other Powers: The Age Of Suffrage, Spiritualism And The Scandalous Victoria Woodhull."

There are odd rumors about what Paramount wants to do with the Star Trek lisence in the future now that it seems to be dying off.

And rumors of what the title of Episode III are. We'll say I presonally favor one of the front runners over the other but the other is more likely. The Rise of the Empire or The Creeping Fear. Seriously.

I must see Dawn of the Dead, Eternal Sunshine and Jersey Girl. Anyone up for movies Friday/Saturday?

I saw Dawn of the Dead over the weekend. It's not your older brother's zombee movie. Good but... modern. Lots of action. Watch for cameos by the members of the original Romero cast!

Eternal Sunshine

If you go see that, will you pay attention to a line at the beginning of the movie for me and tell me about what it said? I don't want to see it again to find it out.

A New Hope
The Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
The Phantom Menace
Attack of the Clones

Frankly, while "The Creeping Fear" sounds like a cool name and all, "Rise of the Empire" sounds more Star Wars.

Besides... you'll notice that the cooler the name, the less cool the episode is? The Phantom Menace... cool name. Empire Strikes Back? Not so cool.

Where is this Star Trek rumor stuff? Would they sell it to me?

It's really amazing how easy it would be to fix.

Take it away from Berman.

Give it to Barrett or Frakes or the other Next Gen cast who are interested in seeing it done right, who know how to do it right.

Tada!

Your version of "right" and mine are not the same.

I'd rather see it go to Behr and Braga, with some oversight.

Braga?

Once good, I'll grant that.

But now? He's gone the way of Berman. "Continuity? What continuity?"

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the 100 Movies link! Not only was it insitful and halarious but it included a line that must be the funniest I have seen all week: "This film should have stunk more than a shipment of ass on Ass Wednesday" Also, as big a fan of Angel & Demon lore fiction, I had no idea that Viggo played Satan in "The Prophecy"! He was So Dead Sexy in that role!

I'm emailing a link to the guy at the library in charge of aquisitions.
