There is more news about Batman Begins. Nothing too spoilery here. There is supposed to be some sort of something released about it today. I'll keep an eye out.
Here is a list of the Sin City casting and who will likely be playing who if they all get signed.
From Variety - Warner Bros. has pacted with Plan B, Scott Free and director Andrew Dominik to make a Western out of Robert Hansen novel "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford," for Brad Pitt to star.
Kevin Smith wants Jake Gyllenhaal for the Green Hornet. Not a bad choice, really.
From Entertainment Weekly - The Passion of The Christ director Mel Gibson told Sean Hannity on his radio show today that his next entry in the genre may be the story of the Maccabees, the Jewish guerilla fighters who led a successful rebellion against Greek conquerors 165 years before Christ, inspiring the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah. (That would be interesting...)
The Australian Associated Press reports that director John Woo wants Hugh Jackman to star in his new action-musical about an American gangster with great dance moves.
Rumors are that George Clooney is close to signing up for a big screen Magnum P.I.. Wow. Okay....
Dreamworks will team with Paramount with Cruise/Wagner producing to make War of the Worlds. Spielberg and Cruise have been talking about this for like a year and half easily now but things seem to be moving forward now.
I haven't found a place that had the The Batman preview on KidsWB but I'll say it again. It was pretty freaking cool. I wasn't happy with the music but the animation was nice.
That's it for now....

Date: 2004-03-18 08:20 am (UTC)It's gotta be "Passion of the Christ director Mel Gibson."
And why does my Amazon order say "usually ships within 24 hours" for both books, but then, when I order them, the Estimated Shipping Date is March 22nd?
If you're NOT AN OWL, how many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop?

Date: 2004-03-18 08:25 am (UTC)Because the shipping estimate is an estimate and it says "usually".
It takes me somewhere around 300 or so.

It is an interesting choice, though I can see it for a younger Gordon, not all mellowed out yet.

Date: 2004-03-18 08:26 am (UTC)Up until Passion, I would have said, "Huh. Nifty." (Which is what I orginally thought when you first said that Gibson was making a movie about Jesus in Aramaic. Oh, those far-off days...)
Now, I really would prefer him not to make it. Yes, I'm being hypocritical and unfair, but I really don't like the idea of someone who seems to honestly beleive that Jews killed his Messiah making a movie about the Hasmoneans.
It'll probably be a lot like Braveheart.

The best Batman animation yet, I dare say. And you know what? Check this out.

Oh, yes. I still got it.
Re: You know, maybe I am cooler than you...
Date: 2004-03-18 08:44 am (UTC)I knew about that. I wanted to find a movie clip of the whole thing, if I could. Not that I've spent too much time looking. I'm sure someone has one out there.

Date: 2004-03-18 09:43 am (UTC)NO! ABSOLUTELY NOT!! I REFUSE TO ALLOW IT!!
For years after Magnum went off the air, there were rumors that Selleck would star in a big-screen version. If they never made that, then I sure as hell don't want to see some ripoff version with the wrong actor.
Can you tell I was a big fan?

Date: 2004-03-18 10:58 am (UTC)I would have like to see Remmington Steele on the big screen as well but I'll take him as James Bond in exchange.

Date: 2004-03-18 09:50 am (UTC)I most emphatically do not want John Woo to direct it, but for *God's sake*, Guys & Dolls! Hugh Jackman should be playing Sky Masterson in GUYS AND DOLLS, for GOD'S SAKE!
*pantpantpant* Okay. I'm better now.
Or not. O.O
